We are honored to be recognized by Berkshire County Head Start with the "Investing in Tomorrow" award. This recognition reflects a shared commitment to ensuring Berkshire County children and families have access to the resources, opportunities, and support they need to thrive. Through collaboration focused on innovative programs, capacity building, and long-term community well-being, Berkshire Taconic and Head Start are working together to strengthen outcomes for future generations.

On November 7, Kara Mikulich, President, and Maeve O'Dea, Vice President of Programs, will accept the award on behalf of the foundation at The Not Gala in Pittsfield.

The 48th Annual Outdoor Exhibition of Contemporary Sculpture at Chesterwood features works emerging from the meadows and woodlands of Chesterwood, engaging the land as both setting and collaborator. The result is an immersive experience of works created by regional artists where sculpture and landscape shape one another in unexpected and compelling ways.

Chesterwood is the former summer home and studio of Daniel Chester French (1850-1931), a leading artist of his era, sculptor of the Minute Man and Lincoln Memorial Abraham Lincoln statues.

Congratulations to artist Elizabeth Alexander, a BTCF Artist's Resource Trust grantee! Her work is on view now in "Home Sweet, Somewhere," at the Lamont Gallery, Phillips Exeter Academy, New Hampshire.

"Home Sweet, Somewhere" invites viewers into domestic spaces that are at once familiar and uncanny. Here, architecture becomes more than shelter—it serves as a vessel for memory, emotion, and the subconscious, where traces of lived experience linger within walls, thresholds, and objects. Each space unfolds as a psychological landscape, shaped as much by what is remembered as by what is imagined."

ARTISTS! BTCF supports regional artists (and arts organizations) through two flagship grants—The Artist’s Resource Trust and the Martha Boschen Porter Fund. There's still time to apply! Deadline is October 15. Through this annual support, local creatives are developing artworks that explore human experience through a rich range of ideas, perspectives, and materials.

We spoke with Elizabeth Alexander and Sarah Slavick, two artists whose work explores complex themes of transformation and vulnerability, relationships between humans and the natural world, and hidden forces beneath surface appearances.

We are proud to officially launch the Arts Hub Fellowships for Artists of Color Across Berkshire County in partnership with Multicultural Bridge!

As the North County hub, we are offering one artist a year of private studio space plus a $3,500 stipend to grow their art practice in the Berkshires. We will also be distributing two additional grants for $3,500 each. All three artists will get All Access memberships to the collective that include access to our darkroom, screenprinting, and shared studio facilities.

BTCF received a heartwarming—and very creative!—thank you card from the Valatie Senior Center in Columbia County. Through the center's Culture & Arts Program, seniors connect with community through creative and meaningful learning experiences.

As one art class participant shared, "This class really changed my life. I always wanted to be an artist, but was pushed away from art in school. Decades later, being encouraged to play with art and learn basic techniques - and not have to be perfect - awakened my love of art again!"
