We need our community right now 💛

We’re getting everything ready to provide 300+ backpacks to students for the upcoming school year,but we can’t do it alone.

Here’s the reality:
• 13 cases of backpacks (312 total) cost about $1,100
• The supplies to fill them, school essentials, hygiene items, and more, cost around $2,000

That’s over $3,000 just to make sure these backpacks go out fully stocked and ready to help.

This is where you come in.

You can sponsor a backpack for just $20. That $20 directly provides one person with a backpack filled with the items listed in the flyer below, things they truly need.

We’re asking our community to step up, share this post, and be part of something bigger. Whether you sponsor one backpack or several, you are making a real, immediate impact.

Thank you all so much for the overwhelming clothing donations — our community really showed up. ❤️
But as many of you know, these families truly lost everything in the Mount Carmel fire, and there are still critical needs we’re hoping to help meet.

In addition to the clothing requests, we are now focusing on collecting hygiene items, food, household basics, and personal essentials. Gift cards are especially helpful, as they allow families to replace items specific to their needs.

If you’re able, please consider donating gift cards for:

• Dollar General
• Local grocery stores
• Local restaurants or fast-food places (a hot meal goes a long way right now)

Every little bit helps — and together we can make sure these families feel supported during such a heartbreaking time. 💛

Shamokin Area Community – We Need Your Help ❤️‍🩹

Overnight, a devastating fire swept through Mount Carmel and several families lost everything. As our communities begins to process what happened, many of our neighbors are suddenly facing unimaginable loss and uncertainty.

As heartbreaking as this situation already is, the timing makes it even harder. This tragedy comes just days before Thanksgiving and only a month before Christmas — a season that should be filled with warmth, stability, and family. Instead, these families are now facing the holidays without homes, belongings, or a sense of normalcy. Our goal is to help restore some hope and comfort during what should be a meaningful time of year.

Our nonprofit is working to gather all the information in one place so people who want to help can do so easily and effectively. Below, we will be compiling confirmed details on each affected family, their immediate needs, donation links, and trusted drop-off locations for supplies.

If you have verified information to add, please message our page so we can keep this post updated and ensure support gets to the right places quickly.
