🐝 Breaking News: We’ve apparently expanded our therapy program to include… beekeeping. Unfortunately, no one told us. 😅

One of our unexpected visitors recently decided that the Horses for Handicapped barn would make the perfect place to start a new colony. While we have the utmost respect for bees (and thank them for all they do for our environment 🌼), having hundreds—or thousands—of them buzzing around our riders, volunteers, and horses isn’t exactly part of the lesson plan.

So, instead of eviction by force, we’re paying to have the colony safely relocated by professionals. It’s the right thing to do for the bees and for the safety of everyone who visits the farm.

Just another reminder that running a horse program is full of surprises. One day it’s hay, the next it’s horseshoes… and the next it’s an unexpected bee real estate transaction. 🐴➡️🐝💸

When we talk about budgeting for the unexpected, this is exactly what we mean! Thank you to everyone who supports our mission and helps us handle life’s little (and sometimes buzzing) surprises with care and compassion.

Thanks to Grant from “Stan the Bee Guy” for putting us on his schedule and handling the real estate transaction!

If you’d like to help us out with a donation for this service please do so through PayPal or a cash/donation. Xx

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved horse, Cliffy.

Cliffy was a cherished part of our program. Even though his time with us wasn’t as long as we would have loved, his gentle spirit and steady presence was fully felt. Whether he was teaching confidence, offering comfort, or simply greeting everyone with his kind eyes and sweet nicker, Cliffy made a lasting impact on all who knew him.

His loss is deeply felt throughout our barn family, and we know many in our community will mourn alongside us.

Please keep our staff, volunteers, and everyone who loved Cliffy in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Run free, sweet Cliffy. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We want to thank Chris Collett (and Jenny Bradley Collett) and his company, Citrus Park Well Drilling for helping us upgrade our valves on our irrigation system and put a timer on our well pump! He donated the parts and his time to help us out and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you Chris and Citrus Park Well Drilling!

Now we can water our pastures at times that ensure the water 💦 is being efficiently used to grow grass for our wonderful horses and won’t be evaporated by the sun!🌞
