Dear Summer Lea Neighbors,

We are writing to you today as part of our ongoing effort to keep Summer Lea a safe, welcoming, and friendly place for everyone.

Recently, we have received several complaints regarding an increase in unwarranted and disrespectful language directed toward community members. We want to be clear: we take these complaints very seriously.

Our neighborhood has always thrived on being a tight-knit, supportive community, and we strongly oppose any behavior or language that makes our neighbors feel unsafe, unwelcome, or disrespected. This type of conduct does not align with our community's values.

While we are addressing these concerns, we kindly ask all parents and guardians to talk with your children and monitor their activities around the neighborhood. Many of these incidents involve younger residents, and a gentle reminder from home about how we treat our neighbors can make a world of difference.

We encourage everyone to help us maintain a positive atmosphere by:

• Leading by example with kindness and courtesy in shared spaces.
• Checking in with your kids about respect and neighborhood expectations.
• Reporting persistent issues directly to Ray Carr so they can be handled appropriately.

Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and continued dedication to keeping Summer Lea a wonderful place to live.

Regarding the Block Party we were considering hosting in June for the Summer Lea Community Association, we have decided to put this event on hold for now since a majority of the responses we received were from residents that could not attend on the proposed date. We will be revisiting this event shortly to see if we can get a date on the calendar for a Block Party in the Fall. More information will be sent out this Summer.

Dear Summer Lea Community Association residents, Ray sent an email on April 1st regarding the below:

The Board of Summer Lea is considering the possibility of hosting another Community Block Party this year on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Block parties are held in the center common area and over the years residents have enjoyed getting together for good food, games, music, and the comradery. Before we move forward with scheduling the block party, we would like to get a preliminary headcount of the residents who would be interested in attending. More importantly, in order to move forward with the block party, we will need some volunteers to help with block party planning as well as organizing activities on the day of the event.

Please reply in the comments to the following block party questions. Thank you!
