We are off and running to a great start for June 1st! 22 cats and kittens made their way to one of our adoption partners to begin their new and much improved lives off the streets.

No longer struggling to survive and no longer reproducing in Yakima Country. Yay!

Today is #19's second Adoptaversary!! ❤️ 😍 💖 Here's an update on this precious boy!

19 is loved to the moon and back by his dad, JT, and has all the toys a cat could ask for, lacking nothing!! Last year, JT wanted a friend for 19 and adopted Sister Marley from us.

These two were meant to be. 19 and SM are like two peas in a pod. Where you find one, there's the other. Cuddle bunnies!

A while ago, JT noticed 19 had a growth, a small bump really, by his teat and took him in. His vet removed the growth and a biopsy was done. Turns out is was a malignant sarcoma. The vet feels like it shouldn't come back and he did remove the whole thing, but JT is keeping an eye on it.

19 has grandparents that come over and "babysit" sometimes while JT is working. His is treated like the king that he is and we love the updates so much.

We occasionally visit JT and the gang, since they only live down the block from our Mascot Uno.

Much love to JT and his family. 19 and Sister Marley expect salmon for dinner to celebrate 🥳 🎉

It's amazing how much laundry you do when caring for bottle babies and kittens. Anyone who says kittens are so clean has not done enough kitty fostering! As cute as the littles are, it's a full time 24/7 job keeping them with clean blankets!

From bottle baby feedings to fresh linens for the poopie messes lol, fosters go through a lot of linens.

Pictured below is just a fraction of the fleece blankets that were donated to us last Saturday. They are kits to make blankets. They have a front and a back that you tie together. There were 32 kits but 64 pieces of fleece made 64 perfectly sized kitten blankets. And we will use each and every one.

Many thanks to Julie Kerrigan Landsiedel for her kindness in donating to the kitties in foster care!! New blankets makes us very happy! ❤️

Yesterday we got a message about a beautiful, young torti that had taken up residence outside behind a large, heavy piece of furniture called "the tunnel" at Joseph Marquette School.

This mama kitty, only a baby herself, was named Mango by the school staff. For over a week the staff cared for Mango and her three babies we named Papaya (m) Kiwi (f) and Apricot (f) all the while living between the tunnel and the wall.

Today, this precious family is now living the good life in their foster home. The babies eyes are all cleaned and medicated and Mango is enjoying her canned nutritional food that will help her keep her strength through nursing.

Huge kudos and thanks to the Joseph Marquette School staff who loved and cared for Mango and her babies.

And a special thanks to Brooke B. for her generous donation in helping these and other homeless, strays cats in our valley.

It takes a village ❤️

On Saturday, our fearless leader Donna, was contacted by our friends at the Greenway about some kittens needing help at the Yakima Police Dept. and could we help. Apparently officers had found a kitty laying on the ground next to their cruiser. Some kittens had gotten up under their vehicle and by the time Donna arrived, the officers were able to grab 4 more making 5 kittens total. The kittens were stone cold so Donna immediately put them in her shirt to warm them up.

There was still one more kitten, but short of dismantling the undercarriage, they had no luck grabbing it. So the officers made a plan to drive slowly while 2 officers followed behind the vehicle hoping the kitten would fall out along the way and they'd be there to save it. The vehicle drove a block with the officers behind and ended up at the Jiffy L**e where this last kitten was saved. The Jiffy L**e guy said we had to name this kitty "Jiffy" which, of course, we did!

There are 4 females (Cagney, Lacey, Zena, Jane) and 2 males (Columbo, and last but not least, Jiffy). 2 have severe upper respiratory, but all in all, these bottle babies were saved in a nick of time and wouldn't have lasted much longer. No mom to be found. (we have trapped in this area many times and there are lots of strays).

Major kudos and respect to the diligence of Officer Peckham and Officer Rosales for refusing to give up on rescuing these precious kitties! Their efforts have made this world a better place ❤️
