Juneteenth – A Celebration of Freedom, History, and Community
Today, we honor Juneteenth, the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and hope.
At the library, we believe that everyone deserves access to knowledge, opportunity, and a place where they belong. Libraries connect us to stories, history, and one another, helping us better understand our shared past and build a stronger future together.
As we commemorate Juneteenth, we invite our community to learn, reflect, and celebrate the contributions, achievements, and experiences of Black Americans throughout history and today.
Everyone belongs at the library. Everyone's story matters.
Happy Juneteenth from the staff of the Sedalia Public Library. ❤️🖤💚
