Jacobs Creek originates in the Laurel Highlands of Southwestern Pennsylvania, making its way to the Youghiogheny River.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our 9th Annual Headwaters Party at the beautiful West Overton Barn! We are so grateful to everyone who came out to enjoy the evening, share a meal, listen to live music, participate in our basket raffles and 50/50, and celebrate the Jacobs Creek Watershed Association.

This event truly would not be possible without the incredible support of our attendees, sponsors, and donors. Your support helps JCWA continue our work throughout the watershed and provide educational programs, recreation events, and conservation projects for our community.

OUR HEADWATERS PARTY IS THIS SATURDAY! 🎉

We’re just 2 days away from our 9th Annual Headwaters Party at West Overton Barn! We can’t wait to celebrate with everyone.

Here are a few reminders before you join us:

🕓 Event begins: 4:00 PM
🍽️ Dinner begins: 5:00 PM
🎨 Caricatures are from 5:00 - 7:00PM
🎟️ Basket Raffle & 50/50: CASH ONLY — be sure to bring cash if you’d like to participate!

We're asking for the community's help following an incident of vandalism at Greenlick Lake/ Jacobs Creek Park.📣‼

Sometime Sunday or Monday night, a vehicle drove through the park doing donuts tearing up and damaging areas of the grass. If you were at or near the park and saw anything unusual or have any information that may help us identify what happened, please contact the Fayette County Parks & Recreation at [email protected] or call 724-430-1200 Ext: 1506

This is especially disheartening after JCWA recently reported vandalism at Acme Dam following one of our paddling events. These parks, lakes, trails, and natural areas belong to our community, and they deserve to be treated with care and respect. We all have a role in protecting the places that provide our community with opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Please help us spread the word and remind others to respect and care for these shared spaces.

We had such a beautiful evening at Acme Dam on Friday for our Sunset Paddling Event! 🛶

As we watched the breath-taking sunset from the Laurel Highlands, participants were able to relax on the water while enjoying the sights and sounds of the watershed.

We even has some great wildlife sighting along the way!
- Large Mouth Bass (M. nigricans)
- Canadian Geese (B. canadensis)
- Great Blue Herons (A. herodias)
- A pair of Belted king Fisher's (M. alcyon), unfortunately we didn't get a photo!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for such a lovely evening. We're grateful to share these recreational experiences with our watershed community!
