Rev Dr Robert Turner completed his 46th forty mile walk for Reparations on Tuesday, July 14th, this time walking from Lawnside, NJ to the NJ state house in Trenton to bring this petition for the NJ legislature to support the NJ Reparations Task Force bill and the NJ Truth, Reconciliation and Repair bill.

His walk was intentionally timed on the anniversary of the Newark Rebellion. Forty miles to represent the unfulfilled promise of 40 acres and a mule. The walk began at the Peter Mott House, a stop on the Underground Railroad, and passed by several important historic sites before ending with the laying of a wreath of 400 roses (to represent 400 years of slavery) at the steps of the state house. You can sign his petition here: https://secure.ngpvan.com/ZohtCNr0rUayu5Q5w8nBZA2?mc_cid=1702ec1223&mc_eid=e407dd3368

History meets hometown fun!
The Somerset Patriots are stepping onto the field as the New York Black Yankees for one unforgettable night — honoring the legendary Negro Leagues team that once played across New York, Paterson, and Rochester - fireworks included!

Expect a full evening of baseball, music, food, and family‑friendly energy and post game fireworks as the Patriots rebrand with custom jerseys and hats designed to give the Black Yankees the identity they never had.

Those game‑worn jerseys will be auctioned live, with proceeds benefiting the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM) — Central NJ’s museum dedicated to preserving African American history and culture.
