Earlier this month, participants in the Bayou Region Energy Leadership Series had the opportunity to visit Port Fourchon and gain firsthand insight into the critical role Louisiana’s energy industry plays in powering our nation and supporting the global economy. As the service hub for 100% of the Gulf of America’s deepwater energy assets, Port Fourchon provided the perfect backdrop for a deeper discussion on the opportunities and challenges shaping our region’s energy future.
Facilitated by Lori LeBlanc of Aurora Solutions Group, the session featured insights from Chett Chiasson, Executive Director of the Greater Lafourche Port Commission, and Kristy Quintal, Corporate Affairs Senior Advisor at Woodside Energy, who shared perspectives on Louisiana’s evolving energy landscape. Participants also enjoyed a waterside tour of the port led by GLPC Deputy Director Davie Breaux, providing a unique look at one of the nation’s most critical energy infrastructure assets.
Experiences like these are part of SCIA’s ongoing commitment to developing informed leaders and providing meaningful educational opportunities. Through partnerships with COLAB, the Atchafalaya Intracoastal Coalition, Louisiana Future Energy, and Aurora Solutions Group, the Bayou Region Energy Leadership Series is helping cultivate the next generation of leaders while advancing SCIA’s vision of being the premier organization focused on energy and coastal issues in the Bayou Region.
