Blessings in a Book Bag (BIBB) is a non-profit organization in Savannah Georgia. BIBB feeds over 100 students and families at Otis Brock Elementary school and families throughout our city. every Friday afternoon. Monday through Friday students eat at school but on the weekends the need is still there. The organization provides 100 students with book bag filled with easy to prepare nonperishable fo

ods to sustain them and their families over the weekends so that on Monday morning students return back to school nourished and ready to learn. Our Mission: Blessings in a Book Bag Inc. wants to insure that impoverished elementary school children and families in need are fed on the weekends throughout the school year and over the Summers. Our Vision: Better test scores, improved reading skills, positive behavior, improved health and increased attendance have all been attributed to the success of this program. Celebrated 107 incredible years of sweet traditions with our amazing friends at Leopold's Ice Cream on Broughton Street! Blessings in a Book Bag was honored to join in on the massive block party filled with free ice cream, great music, a dunk tank, and endless games for the kids. A huge thank you to Stratton Leopold and the whole Leopold’s family for everything you do for our city—we love you and wish you many, many more sweet years ahead! 🍦🎉
​Events like this wouldn’t be possible without our incredible community. A massive shoutout to our amazing volunteers from the Junior League of Savannah for showing up and serving with so much joy, the Savannah Fire Department for bringing the fun, and our remarkable board members, Moon Avery McCroskey and Cristine Tindall for stepping up and getting it done while going above and beyond to make the day an absolute success. Thank you to everyone who came out to play, celebrate, and make memories with us! We were able to raise over $700 yesterday for school age children 💙✨

READY SET GO!!!!!🎊

​What an incredible day! Today marked the 2nd Annual Tanger Outlets, Savannah Color Dash & Splash with Blessings In A Bookbag, Inc. , and the community energy was off the charts! Over 200 runners said "ready, set, GO!" and brought their best vibes to the 5K, while our littlest champions kicked things off with a super fun, free Kiddie Run at 10:00 a.m. From splash zones and bounce houses to sweet popsicles, fantastic music, and incredible local vendors, it was a day filled with pure joy, color, and community connection.

​A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who made this event such a massive success! Extra special appreciation goes out to our wonderful sponsors— Chatham Subaru , Novu New Hampstead, Gretchen Brown Dixon of Northwestern Mitual, , and the Mobile Barbershop—
for showing up for our community. We also owe a big shoutout to the Pooler Firefighters for bringing the water splash fun, as well as the Junior League of Savannah, The Embassy Church , the Coastal Gullah Geechee & Afro-Caribbean Chamber of Commerce , and all of our food trucks and volunteers. ​I’m thrilled to join the Morning News Break alongside our partners at Tanger Outlets, Savannah to spread the word about an incredible day for local families! We are gearing up for our 2nd Annual Back to School Dash & Splash Color Run, taking place this Saturday, July 25th at 8:00 AM. This event is completely free, open to the public, and guaranteed to be packed with high-energy fun for all ages. There is still plenty of time to get involved, so click the link below to register your family and join in on the celebration!
​The fun doesn't end at the finish line—our team at Blessings In A Bookbag, Inc. will be on-site doing what we love most: showing up big for our community. Starting at 12:00 PM, we will be hosting a school supply giveaway to ensure our kids head back to the classroom prepared, confident, and ready to succeed. 😊. ​Get ready to kick off the new school year with a splash! Blessings in a Book Bag invites you and your entire family to the Back to School Color Dash and Splash on Saturday, July 25th, located at Tanger Outlets right in front of the Big Lighthouse Tower. Bring the whole crew out for a fun-filled day packed with exciting games, local vendors, and delicious sweet treats. Whether you are running, walking, or just coming to enjoy the festivities, it’s going to be a vibrant celebration you won’t want to miss.
​The action starts bright and early at 8:00 AM with our 5K Color Dash, followed by a FREE Kids Run starting at 10:00 AM. Then, mark your calendars for 12:00 PM sharp when our major Back to School Giveaway begins! Thanks to our generous friends at Chatham Subaru, who will be on-site giving away book bags, students can get equipped for the upcoming school year—all giveaways are first-come, first-served until everything is gone.
