Oops! With how busy these last few weeks have been, we forgot to ask 🤦‍♀️ Savannah Freeschoolers could use a little help covering our storage unit cost for November. If just 10 people donate $10 each, we can cover the fee—and every penny counts! 🤑

Any donation, big or small, will earn you our newly designed Homeschool Squad sticker and enter you into a drawing for a homemade loaf of pumpkin bread and banana bread, baked by me and Caryn Force! Some may have tried these loaves at various gatherings, but even if you haven't judt know they are DELICIOUS!! Any extra amount raised over the $109 will go toward future storage costs, helping us plan ahead ⏩️⏩️⏩️

📜🪶Is your child bursting with imagination? Do they love telling stories or want to explore their creative side? Introducing The Writer’s Playground: Creative Writing for Young Minds, a new class from Savannah Freeschoolers designed to inspire young writers and ignite their passion for storytelling!

✍🏽What’s the Class About?
This monthly class is perfect for students ages 10 and up who are eager to dive into the world of creative writing. Through multiple quick and engaging writing challenges, students will unlock their creativity, think outside the box, and have fun crafting unique stories.

Here’s what they’ll experience:
Creative Writing Challenges: Each session will feature multiple quick writing prompts and timed challenges to get their ideas flowing. From writing from a new character’s point of view to imagining fantastical worlds, these exercises will stretch their imagination and creative problem-solving skills.

Opportunities to Share: Students will have three chances per session to share their work and ideas in a positive, supportive environment. Sharing builds confidence and fosters collaboration among young writers.

Interactive and Fun: Expect laughter, lively discussions, and creative breakthroughs! This is not your average writing class—it's designed to make writing fun and to nurture a lifelong love for storytelling.
No Cost: We are offering this class free of charge, so it’s accessible to all families in our homeschooling community.

🎨 Introducing The Local Palette: Art Classes with Local Artists! 🎨

We are excited to announce The Local Palette, a brand-new art series where students ages 9-16 can explore different artistic techniques and mediums with talented Savannah-based artists! 🌟

Each month, a local artist will lead weekly classes, giving students a chance to dive into various creative forms, from painting to mixed media and more. These sessions are designed to ignite creativity and introduce students to new and exciting artistic approaches.

We’re offering this program at an affordable rate to ensure more homeschool students can participate in these high-quality art classes. With classes running for approximately one month per artist, there’s always something new to learn—and we already have a handful of incredible artists ready to start! 🎉

Exciting news for Savannah Freeschoolers!

We are thrilled to announce that The Language & Culture Exchange in Savannah, Georgia, has generously offered us their beautiful space as needed for our indoor activities!

This offer has opened up so many doors for us. Over the past year, we've had lots of wonderful ideas that needed an indoor space to bring to life, and now, thanks to this amazing opportunity, we can start putting those ideas into action!

A huge thank you to Jennifer Mink de Carreño for her support in fostering community and creativity. We are so grateful for this chance to expand what we can offer to our members.

If you haven’t heard of the Language & Culture Exchange, it’s a fantastic group that brings people together to share languages, cultures, and experiences in a welcoming environment. We encourage everyone to check them out and get involved!

🎉Exciting News: Our Mobile Curriculum Closet is Growing!🎉

We’re thrilled to share that the Savannah Freeschoolers’ MOBILE CURRICULUM CLOSET is coming along beautifully! In fact, we’ve almost outgrown our first set of stackable storage totes and are in need of another set 🤯 Our closet is now stocked with a diverse range of curriculum and supplemental resources, covering subjects like math, language arts, foreign languages, history, science, and art 📚

However, we still need a broader selection of grades and materials to truly make this a resource that benefits all our members. This is an ideal opportunity to pass on last year’s curriculum and give it a new life in our community!

In addition to educational materials, we’re also seeking donations of gently used technology like netbooks, Chromebooks, Kindles, and tablets, as well as essential learning tools such as headphones and art supplies. We’re also accepting educational games, binders, composition books, folders, notebooks, scissors, glue, crayons, pens, pencils, and more.

We can’t wait to showcase the Mobile Curriculum Closet to everyone soon and see it become an invaluable resource for our homeschooling community. Your contributions make all the difference—let’s keep growing together!

Thank you to all who made a donation to help us cover monthly storage unit expenses. We are beyond grateful and are happy to report that we were able to completely cover August and September. We are well on our way to covering October also! Thanks again, Freeschooler fam! 💓

The Savannah Freeschoolers could use your help to cover next month's (and future months') storage unit fees. Our non-profit is growing fast, and we've accumulated a lot of STUFF! If ten folks could pledge $10 each, we’d easily cover next month’s fee, which is due on the 1st.

The board needs your help! After a year full of amazing events and celebrations, the Freeschoolers ended up needing our very own storage unit. We have kept as much as possible to reuse for future years, most of these supplies we have purchased ourselves. The past few months of storage have been paid using Freeschoolers funds. Our Mobile Curriculum Closet will offer homeschool families the opportunity to "check out" essential curriculum materials, supplemental resources, and basic supplies. To ensure smooth operations and efficient storage, we've put together a short Amazon List featuring:

- A neat, stackable set of totes with front cabinet swinging doors—perfect for organizing our curriculum content.
- Extra small tote boxes to store pens, pencils, paints, colored pencils, and more.
- A variety of supplies including crayons, markers, pencils, and other essentials.
