Renee became a mother at 19 and 21, but addiction kept tightening its grip. After the unexpected death of her partner, everything unraveled. “I went off the rails, and I’m honestly surprised I’m still alive. I started doing a lot of drugs, as many as I could handle.”

It did not stop. It escalated into chaos, grief, and loss of control. Then came the breaking point. A DUI while driving led to prison time. Today, she is beginning to rebuild her life and reconnect with her family.

“I’ve been incarcerated for most of my daughter’s life. I’ve never had a birthday with her. I want that to change.”

Amber’s life spiraled into addiction after being introduced to alcohol and ma*****na at 21. What began as numbness turned into broken trust, damaged relationships, and a cycle that led to incarceration.

Amber entered the Mission’s Life Recovery Program and, for the first time, found structure, accountability, and faith. She is now rebuilding her life and reconnecting with her daughter.
