We proudly serve communities across California’s Central Coast by helping individuals build skills, pursue goals, and fully participate in their communities.

There are many ways to support BEACON’s mission, including volunteering, donating, shopping at our businesses, or helping spread awareness about the work we do. Every contribution helps create more opportunities for individuals to thrive.

Who is BEACON? 💡

BEACON is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities through programs focused on independence, employment, and community engagement. Formed through the merger of VTC Enterprises and LOVARC, our organization brings together more than 60 years of shared service and support across California’s Central Coast.

Our mission is to help individuals achieve their life goals while creating opportunities for growth, confidence, and meaningful community connection.

We are grateful for everyone who continues supporting this journey and helping us build a more inclusive future together.

📣 We’re excited to share a new chapter in our story.

We are proud to introduce BEACON, created through the merger of VTC and LOVARC. As one not-for-profit organization, BEACON will continue our shared mission of creating opportunities for people with disabilities to thrive.

For over 60 years, VTC and LOVARC have supported individuals with disabilities on the Central Coast through meaningful career opportunities, community engagement, and support services. While our name is changing, our commitment remains the same.

We know change can feel uncertain at first, but BEACON is built on the same values, trusted relationships, and legacy of service that have guided us for decades. As long-term community partners, we remain dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities in Santa Maria, Lompoc, and across the Central Coast.

To our community, thank you for your continued trust and support. We are excited to move forward together and become a BEACON in this next chapter.

Community Kindness in Action! 💛☕ Our Coffee & Community excursion group had such a wonderful experience today at Canela Cafe!
The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind to both our participants and staff—creating a space that truly felt warm, inclusive, and inviting. And to top it all off… they surprised us with a complimentary giant co**ha that we are definitely enjoying to the fullest! 😍🍞
Moments like these remind us how powerful community connections can be. We are so grateful for the support of local businesses that help make experiences like this meaningful and memorable for the people we serve.
