The Santa Ana Literary Association is an inclusive community platform created to recognize and amplify the literary presence of Santa Ana, promoting local authors, poets, and playwrights. You may use this page to post poems, stories, songs, book reviews, and articles pertaining to literature. You may use this page to post information regarding published works and upcoming literary events in Santa Ana and beyond. You may use this page to seek advice regarding the writing process, the publishing process, and local literary programs. You may even use this page to ask questions regarding the usage of grammar according to the MLA Handbook and the Chicago Manual of Style. Please communicate respectfully or else you’ll be banned. Join us for a poetry reading tomorrow!
✨October 8 at 3 pm in room A-130

This will feature the editor of Anger is a Gift along with several writers that have contributed to this anthology.
The anthology includes poems and short stories about the most recent election and the political and economic climate in our communities. They will also be reading from their own collections of poetry as well.

Some of the call themes are: leave the light on; biopunk; transformation; humorous stories; superheroes, super problems; faeries; America; Iran (translations); human accounts of beastly encounters; what you worship; heartsick; human capital; antiquities; grit & glitter; manifest; language, censorship, and translation; all about trees; and did I leave the gas on: tales of coming home.

Meet Author Min Jin Lee
Monday, October 12 at 6:30pm

Min Jin Lee is the author of the novels Free Food for Millionaires and Pachinko, a finalist for the National Book Award, runner-up for the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and a New York Times “100 Best Books of the Century.” She serves as the New York State Author Laureate from 2025 through 2027. She is the 2024 recipient of The Fitzgerald Prize for Literary Excellence. Lee has received the Manhae Grand Prize for Literature, the Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award, and the Samsung Happiness for Tomorrow Award for Creativity from South Korea. Lee is an inductee of the New York Foundation for the Arts Hall of Fame and the New York State Writers Hall of Fame.
