The Santa Ana Literary Association is an inclusive community platform created to recognize and amplify the literary presence of Santa Ana, promoting local authors, poets, and playwrights. You may use this page to post poems, stories, songs, book reviews, and articles pertaining to literature. You may use this page to post information regarding published works and upcoming literary events in Santa

Ana and beyond. You may use this page to seek advice regarding the writing process, the publishing process, and local literary programs. You may even use this page to ask questions regarding the usage of grammar according to the MLA Handbook and the Chicago Manual of Style. Please communicate respectfully or else you’ll be banned. The search for the next OC Poets Laureate begins THIS Friday!

The OC Poets Laureate program is an unprecedented countywide effort to celebrate literacy through poetry and connect poets and youth writers to far-reaching opportunities through community initiatives and social justice. This year, we are accepting applications from talented OC writers (ages 19+ & 13-19) to join a community of OC poets laureate.

The OC Poets Laureates and honorable mentions are invited to serve as ambassadors for literacy, arts, and expression with ongoing opportunities for performances, projects, and peer support.

Celebrate Comic Orange with us and meet Gene Luen Yang!
Gene Luen Yang writes, and sometimes draws, comic books and graphic novels. He advocates for the importance of reading, especially reading diversely. Dragon Hoops, his non-fiction graphic novel about a high school basketball team, was a Printz Honor winner, Eisner Award winner, and Harvey Award winner. His other works include Secret Coders (with Mike Holmes), Superman from DC Comics (with various artists), and the Avatar: The Last Airbender series from Dark Horse Comics (with Gurihiru). In 2016, he was named a MacArthur Foundation Fellow.
