Meet the Founder of The Giving Jay
The Giving Jay was founded by a licensed professional counselor with a deep background in behavioral health, rehabilitation counseling, trauma work, substance abuse treatment, and private practice.
With experience ranging from direct care at Tulsa Boys’ Home and Shadow Mountain to vocational rehabilitation, neurofeedback, substance abuse intake, DHS therapy, and private practice, she has spent years walking alongside individuals and families navigating systems that often leave people without the support they truly need.
The Giving Jay was born from witnessing those gaps firsthand — the moments when clients needed help but did not qualify for existing programs, could not access care quickly enough, or were left stuck by systems not designed for real-life healing and success.
The name honors Rebecca Jarrett, former Clinical Director at Tulsa Boys’ Home. The blue jay represents carrying forward Rebecca’s mission of helping people, even after her passing.
The heart behind The Giving Jay is simple: to stand in the gaps, reduce barriers, and help Oklahoma neighbors access real support, connection, and hope.
