The most recent Max preps rankings just came out. MB boys volleyball are ranked #6 in San Diego CIF and #77 in the State. By way of context, San Diego CIF has over 120 boys volleyball teams!

Wow. What a season! We ended up losing 2-3 to Central East High in Fresno in a match at Central East High in the SoCal Regional Finals. We ended up scoring more points than they did in a 5 set match but just not at the right times. All of our state playoff games were on the road. It is tough to drive 6 hours, play in a hostile home gym against the other team and not only combat the other team but the local "hometown" refs. Overall, we finished 31-7. We won league, CIF Div 3, and finished 2nd in the SoCal Regionals and 3rd in State. We are currently ranked 8th in San Diego CIF and number 92 in the State. This is the top finish overall in State and rankings of any boys volleyball team in the school's history to date. We could not be prouder of the team. We graduate 6 fantastic seniors. Next year we have a solid group of returners and hope to do it all over again.

Saturday at 6 p.m. is a big game. The Southern California Regional Finals for Mission Bay vs. Central East High in Fresno. If you want to watch the game it is available on NFHS. If we win this game we move on the State Finals on May 30th in Fresno. Having to travel 6 hours and play in the other teams gym can be tough but our boys are ready to go!

The Mission Bay High Bucs are on to the Regional Finals (State Semi-Finals) after beating the Division 2 champion Bonita Vista 3-0. Neither team played at the top of their game with teams running into Grad Night at Disneyland. However, the Bucs gutted out a tough 3-0 win!
We play Central East Fresno High School Saturday at 6 p.m. at Central East High School. It is long way to travel for a match. Not sure how Fresno is in the "southern" section... If we win, we play in the State Championship game on Saturday, May 30th so the stakes are very high.
On another note, the Mission Bay High Boys Volleyball is currently ranked #8 in San Diego CIF!
We couldn't be prouder of the team!

Last night Mission Bay High Boys Volleyball played their first round state playoff game against the Los Angeles Division 1 champion Taft High School (Woodland Hills) at Taft High School. It took us roughly 3 hours to drive there but only about 1.5 hours to beat Taft 3-0. The boys played amazing. Our block controlled the opposing team and our hitters put on a hitting show. We now move on to the semi-finals in the southern region (quarterfinals overall in the State Tournament) against Bonita Vista High School. We play Bonita Vista High School at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Bonita Vista. Come support our Bucs!

Varsity won their CIF Semi-Final Playoff match last night 3-0 against San Pasqual High. We started the first set a little slow before rolling to a victory. After that, the boys cruised on to win the 2nd and 3rd matches. On Saturday at 1:30 we play in the CIF Finals at Mira Costa Community College against Olympian High School. If we win Saturday, we are on to the state playoffs!
Last night our outside hitters and opposite hitters put on another exciting hitting show, serving was solid, passing was great and our defense was tenacious. Volleyball is the ultimate team effort and we played like a team. Let's go Bucs!

Varsity boys play San Pasqual tomorrow, Wednesday, at 6 p.m. at Mission Bay High School in their CIF Division 3 semi-final match. If we win tomorrow, we will play this Saturday, May 16th at Mira Costa Community College at 1:30 p.m. for the CIF championship. Come out and cheer for the Bucs on their quest for a CIF championship!

Mission Bay Boys' Volleyball plays a HOME match against San Pasqual on Wednesday, May 13th at 6 p.m. It is the semi-finals of the San Diego CIF Div 3 championship.
If we win Wednesday, we will play in the San Diego CIF Div 3 championship on Saturday at 1:30 at Mira Mesa High School against the winner of the Sweetwater vs. Olympian matchup.
If we win there, it will be on to State!
