DOG OF THE WEEK: GEORGE

⭐️ Hi, I’m George. I’m one year old, and yes—I really am this cute when I’m trying to get your attention.

I’m a smart, playful guy who loves to stay busy. I’m happiest when I’m moving, learning, and doing things with my person—whether that’s hikes, fetch, or working on new tricks (I’m a quick study, by the way).

I’m already house-trained and crate-trained, so I’ve got a great foundation. What I’m looking for now is someone who wants to keep building on that—give me structure, keep my brain engaged, and make me part of the action. 🐾

I do best in an adult home (or with older, dog-savvy teens) that can match my energy and keep me on track. If you’re looking for a dog to hang out on the couch all day, I’m probably not your guy. But if you want a fun, active partner to do life with—I’m all in.

Great work Dogwood Animal Rescue Project!!

50,000 !!

It's staggering to think about how many litters of unwanted puppies and kittens have been avoided with 50,000 less dogs and cats being able to reproduce.

The number one cause of preventable death for companion animals in this country is euthanasia due to overpopulation. Dogwood knows we can’t rescue/adopt our way out of the crisis. Spay/neuter is the only way to prevent the ongoing suffering and death of so many thousands of unwanted animals every year.

The single biggest impact we make for animals is through funding various affordable spay/neuter programs throughout California. If we can prevent unwanted litters from being born, we help curb this nightmare overpopulation crisis.

And we feel immense gratitude to our donors, our team and our spay/neuter partnerships!

**This 50,000 figure is 'owned' dogs and cats as well as community & feral cats. This number does not include yearly 800-1,000 animals in Dogwood's adoption program.
