A safe & healthy childhood should be a PROMISE, not a PRIVILEGE. Today, we had an incredible time at the Wellsville Carnegie Public Library where 157 local kids enjoyed the Sunshine Bus experience. They interacted with positive adult role models, had access to basic necessities, increased their decision-making skills & had fun!

Childhoods and bright futures are shaped by moments like this. 🥰🥰🥰

🌟 BIG NEWS: Youth Summit 2027 Keynote Speaker Announced! 🌟

If you've ever wondered how far in advance we start planning Youth Summit... the answer is very early! 😊

While Youth Summit 2026 has only recently wrapped up, we've already been hard at work dreaming, praying, and planning for what God has in store for Youth Summit 2027. We believe our students deserve the very best experience possible, and that means making important decisions months in advance.

That's why we're excited to officially announce that Nate Ortiz will be our Youth Summit 2027 Keynote Speaker! 🎉

Nate is a ministry leader, entrepreneur, and nationally sought-after speaker with more than two decades of experience inspiring leaders, students, churches, and organizations. He has spoken to professional athletes and teams at the highest levels and even contributed to ESPN's acclaimed 30 for 30 film, Youngstown Boys. Most importantly, he has a passion for helping people discover purpose, overcome obstacles, and create lasting impact.

Nate will be leading both keynote sessions during Youth Summit 2027:

🌅 A.M. Keynote – "New Perspective. Bold Start."
Taking an honest look at where we're at in life.

🌙 P.M. Keynote – "Real Talk. Lasting Impact."
Exploring how we can do hard things and grow through life's challenges.

📚✏️ We know... summer just started, and NOBODY wants to think about back-to-school yet! ☀️😎

But we wanted to give Salem City School District families a heads-up so you can mark your calendars and make arrangements for our Back to School Clothing & Shoe Voucher Program Sign-Ups!

🗓 One Day Only Sign-Up Date: TUESDAY JULY 28, 2026
⏰ Time: 9AM–7PM
📍 Location: The Brightside Project, 1909 N. Ellsworth Ave., Salem, OH 44460

Qualifications for 2026 Voucher Sign-Ups:

1. Children from low-income families who attend Salem City Schools in-person and are entering Pre-K through 12th Grade.

2. Children MUST be attending one of these Salem schools for the 2026-2027 school year: Salem Head Start, Reilly Preschool. St. Paul School, Buckeye Elementary, Southeast Elementary, Salem Jr. & Sr. High School.

3. Homeschool and online students will be placed on a waitlist. Should vouchers be available after in-person student needs are met, vouchers will be distributed based on income.

4. Parents must bring: ✔️2 Proofs of Residency, ✔️Each child's Birth Certificate, ✔️Final Forms to prove Salem School enrollment (or EdChoice Scholarship letter for St. Paul School students)

While we're all enjoying summer break, this is one date you'll want to get on the calendar and make arrangements for, we will not be accommodating any voucher sign-ups outside of July 28.

Join us on Thursday, June 18th from 4-6PM for Food for Kids!

Food for Kids is a free program for children ages 3–18 in Columbiana County and rural Mahoning County. Children have the opportunity to shop our Children's Choice Food Pantry, where they can practice making healthy choices, interact with positive adult role models, and build confidence and self-esteem in a safe, welcoming environment.

🍽️ Hot Meal Night! 🍽️
All children in attendance and their families are invited to enjoy a free meal provided and served by the wonderful mission team from Mt. Olivet United Church of Christ!

This week's menu includes:
🥔 Turkey Gravy over Mashed Potatoes
🥦 Broccoli

There is no cost to participate. We look forward to seeing your family and helping children build skills, confidence, and hope, one choice at a time.
