⏳ WHY WAITING MATTERS ⏰️

🐶 Lulu here 🎤, reporting from the puppy nursery…
The TUMBLER pups are 7 weeks old, and guess what?
They already have families who are SO excited to take them home 🏡

I know, I know—they look big, fluffy, and totally ready.
But trust me…they still need this time together. Right now, they are busy learning some very important “how to dog” skills:

🐾 How to control the strength of their bite (if they bite too hard, their sibling lets them know!)

🐾 How to respect space, take turns, and not get too bossy

🐾 Through playing and tumbling together, they gain coordination and confidence to explore new things

If puppies leave too early, they can miss out on these lessons—and that can make life a little harder for them later on.
So yes…everyone is counting down the days 📆
But for now, they still need a little more time being babies 💕

And as your trusted puppy correspondent, I can confirm:
Good things (and very good dogs) are worth the wait 🐶✨

“Black Dog Syndrome” is a real thing—and it means black dogs can wait 3–4 times longer in shelters before finding a home 🐾💔

Juju is here with one of our awesome youth volunteers, Keira! She fosters, shows up to events to help our adoptable pups, and even turned her love for animals into a school project (how cool is that?!).

Keira created this project to help people understand how tough it can be for animals with black coats to get noticed—and why they deserve just as much love as any other pet 🖤🐶🐱

Take a minute to check out her amazing work and help us spread the word. Sometimes all it takes is a little extra attention to change a life 💛

Hi friends! It’s me, Lulu! 🐾
I checked on the TUMBLER puppies today and guess what they were doing? Sleeping… again! But don’t worry — they’re not being lazy. They’re actually doing something SUPER important!

💤 Why do puppies sleep so much?
Puppies grow really fast — like, blink-and-they’re-bigger fast. All that growing takes a LOT of energy, so their bodies need extra sleep to recharge.

📊 Just how much do they sleep?
Baby puppies can sleep about 80–90% of the day. That’s almost all day long! So if you see a pile of sleepy pups, that’s actually a sign they’re healthy and growing.

📈 How fast do they grow?
In just a few weeks, puppies go from tiny newborns to wiggly, playful explorers. Their bones, muscles, and even their personalities are developing FAST — and sleep is what helps make all that happen.

⚠️ What if puppies don’t get enough sleep?
Lulu says that’s a big no-no!
Puppies who don’t get enough rest can:
Get cranky (just like humans!)
Have trouble learning
Become too wild or bitey during play
Feel stressed or overwhelmed

⏰ Lulu’s Puppy Tip:
Keep playtimes short and sweet, and make sure puppies get LOTS of naps in between. A good nap schedule helps them grow strong, stay happy, and be their best little selves.

😍 So if you see these sleepy babies all snuggled up, don’t wake them — they’re busy growing! Being this cute is hard work!
— Love, Lulu 🐶✨

Hey kids, want to help your dog burn energy without going on a big walk?

Try brain games!

My friend Zane LOVES his pizza puzzle 🍕. He uses his nose and brain to figure out how to get the treats out and by the end, he’s tired and happy!

You can help by:
🍕 Filling puzzle toys with treats
🐾 Sitting with your dog while they play
🧠 Encouraging them as they learn

These games are awesome because they:
💛 Combat boredom
😌 Help dogs feel less anxious
🧠 Tire us out mentally

Sometimes we can’t run around as much, and that’s okay, working our brains is another great way to exercise!

And just so everyone knows… Zane already has his home and is not available for adoption, he’s just here to show off his puzzle skills 😎🍕

And these two have something super important to say!

Getting your pets spayed or neutered is a BIG deal. It helps stop more puppies from ending up without homes and keeps your dog healthier too. It’s one of the easiest ways to help animals in your community 🐶✨

If your pup just had surgery, here’s how to be the best helper ever: • Keep them chill—no zoomies for a bit! • Make sure they wear their cone (yes, even if they give you the sad eyes) • Give them a comfy spot to rest and relax • Follow what the vet says about food and medicine • And give them lots of gentle love 💕

Juju and Murphy are counting on you to help keep pups safe and happy 💛🐕

Why do we foster?

Because every dog has a story. And some of those stories are really sad at first… but we help make them better.

💛 Valentine is almost at her happy ending. After everything she went through. From living in a barn, raising her puppies while she was so sick, she will be going to her forever home very soon. Zuzu says she found the BEST family, and her new life is just about to begin.

Reese had to survive outside with other dogs while taking care of her puppy. She’s still a little shy and learning that people can be kind. Zuzu says that’s okay, she’s trying her best, and that’s what matters.

Crystal lived outside all by herself, but kind people made sure she had food. Now she’s learning how to trust and feel safe.

Kylie has been so brave. Her leg had to be removed, and she’s still getting used to life with just three legs. She may be unsure and a little scared sometimes, but she’s healing more every day. Zuzu says it’s okay to take your time when something big changes.

Zuzu also remembers some friends from before…

Hope was left behind when she got older and very sick with cancer. That wasn’t fair at all. But she didn’t spend her last days alone, she was loved in a hospice foster home where she was safe, warm, and cared for every single day. Zuzu says every dog deserves that kind of love, especially at the end.

Fiona was so scared in the shelter that she didn’t want anyone near her.
Yoda was found in a home with too many dogs. He had almost no hair from fleas and was so uncomfortable.
Stormy was outside with her puppies, trying to keep them safe, and was rescued just before a big winter storm.

Zuzu says… every dog matters.

Dogs can’t ask for help like we can. They need people to be brave for them.

That’s why we foster. We give them love, safety, and time to heal.

💛 Zuzu has a message for YOU 💛

Come volunteer today!
Tell your friends and classmates about the amazing world of rescue!
You can be a hero for dogs just by helping, sharing, and caring.

Because every dog deserves a happy ending… and a lot of love along the way. 🐾💛

🐾 Zuzu Says 🐾

Hi friends! Zuzu here! I want you to meet my friend Fiona! 🐶💕

When Fiona first came into rescue, she was super duper scared. The shelter was loud, busy, and very confusing for her. Because she was so nervous, Fiona barked really loud and sometimes even got a little snappy. She just didn’t feel safe and didn’t know who to trust yet.

Sometimes when dogs feel that scared, they try to protect themselves the only way they know how.

But guess what happened when Fiona got to go to a home? 🏡

Everything changed.

Once she had a quiet place, kind people, and time to relax, Fiona started to show who she really is. Now she’s confident, happy, and full of love. Her tail wags, she explores, and she enjoys being around people.

Fiona wasn’t a “bad dog” at the shelter. She was just a very scared dog in a very scary place.
That’s why giving dogs a chance outside the shelter can help them shine and show their true hearts. ✨

I’m really proud of my friend Fiona! 🐾

Love,
Zuzu 🐶

Hi friends!!! 🐾💕
It’s me… Lulu!
Today I stopped by to have lunch with the Valentine puppies. Guess what?
They are 8 weeks old and growing SUPER fast. Like… blink-and-they’re-bigger fast!
And that got me thinking… 🤔
Did you know puppies need special food to grow big and strong?

Now, there’s kibble made for all kinds of dogs — big dogs, small dogs, fluffy dogs, zoomie dogs! 🐶
But baby puppies need food made just for puppies. Why?
Because puppy food has:
🥣 Extra calories – That means more energy to play, learn, and grow!
🧠 Special vitamins – These help their brains develop so they can learn things like “sit,” “stay,” and “don’t chew the shoe!”
💪 Nutrients for strong bones and muscles – So they can jump, run, and cuddle properly.
The brand doesn’t matter as much as making sure it says “puppy” on the bag. That’s how we know it’s made just for growing pups.

So next time you see a little puppy, remember — they aren’t just small dogs.
They’re growing babies who need the right fuel to become healthy, happy big dogs one day! 🐾❤️
Thanks for learning with me!
Love,
Lulu 🐶
