Disabled Athlete Sports Association

Disabled Athlete Sports Association Through adaptive sports and fitness, DASA empowers individuals with physical disabilities to find their inner athlete. These programs are theraputic.

DASA recruits individuals 5 years old - Adults with a permanent physical or visual disability who have difficulty participating in sports with non-disabled peers. Our sports programs are more than just lessons or competition. They gain self-confidence, strength, and endurance, along with social support for children and parents.

Camp WeCanDu starts Sunday at Babler State Park!

Camp WeCanDu is DASA’s annual summer camp for youth with physical disabilities to fully participate in a week-long, over-night summer camp experience to discover natural abilities and build friendships that will last a lifetime.

Children living with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, visual impairments, and many other forms of physical disabilities come together at camp each summer and participate in all kinds of activities to build strength, self-confidence, courage, independence, and a supportive social network.

Thank you to our 2026 sponsors for your generosity and support!

DASA is excited to announce that our annual Sportacular Fusion event is now called Move our Mission and will be held Saturday, November 7th at RYSE Nightclub inside Ameristar Casino!

Move Our Mission is a high-energy fundraising experience that reimagines the traditional gala, blending elegance, celebration, and purpose. Through inspiring athlete stories and meaningful connections, guests play a direct role in expanding access to adaptive sports and creating opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities.

The event features two distinct experiences designed to engage supporters at every level. The evening begins with an exclusive VIP Dinner, offering high-capacity donors an intimate seated dining experience and deeper connection to the mission. At the same time, the Happy Hour provides a lively atmosphere with an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and Silent and Live Auctions, creating an accessible and engaging way to support the cause.

Following an inspiring Fund the Need presentation, all guests come together for a celebratory Dance Party at RYSE Nightclub, uniting the community to celebrate the impact of their generosity and the power of adaptive sports.

Thank you to The Buddy Fund for providing a $3,600 equipment grant to support our athletes! We used these funds to purchase equipment for our Wheelchair Basketball, Archery, Air Rifle, and National Cart Co Power Soccer programs.

The Buddy Fund was founded in 1962 by St. Louis Sportscaster Buddy Blattner to supply sports equipment to charities and organizations that use organized sports to help children in high-risk situations, or those in need of additional support. The Buddy Fund is able to purchase and donate over $3,800,000 in sports equipment, impacting over 450,000 children in the St. Louis area.
