In October, our annual retreat brought together over 100 striving disciples with LGBTQ+ experiences. About a quarter of our retreatants joined us for the first time– our largest Retreat yet, for the third year in a row!

The weekend was a vibrant group of pilgrims: Varying ages (20-70), vocations, and ethnicities. A few different Christian denominations. A wide range of experiences of same-sex desires, gender discordance, and other LGBTQ+ experiences. We also had a Retreat Team of 25 people– Eden Invitation Staff, priests, religious, counselors, and other friends of our community working behind the scenes. Together, we represented 6 countries across 5 continents: Australia, India, Rwanda, England, Canada, and the USA (26 different states!) The presence of each individual contributed to such a joyful witness to the universality of this journey, that together we can step into our Longings and walk with Christ there.

Here's what Alex, a retreat participant, wanted to share if you're considering attending one of our retreats! “Even if you think you have everything figured out and don't need help in this area, the fundamental spirituality of Eden Invitation is so amazing, and I wish it were more common... If you do feel like you need any kind of support in areas of sexuality, gender, and faith, these retreats are an excellent place to be seen, heard, and supported... That can be hard to find elsewhere, to find the unity between personal holiness and interior freedom.”

Merry Christmas! During this Christmas season, "we’re reminded of the idea of pilgrimage. Yes, in the journey of Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem. Yes, in the shepherds and Magi who travel short and colossally long distances, respectively, to visit the Christ child’s side. But even more so in Jesus Himself," (Anna Carter, 2025 Newsletter). Today, we here at Eden Invitation pray that you may hold Jesus in the manger of your heart. May you rest with Him, the Holy Family, and your family and friends in peaceful joy.
