A great day for a surprise for Pastor Kyle. Eight parishioners from the Montezuma United Methodist Church near Celina, Ohio came for worship service today. Pastor Kyle served as their pastor before being assigned to the Saint Paris UMC. It was a beautiful blessing and joy for Pastor Kyle and for all the SPUMC congregation. We also welcomed a young mother, Courtney and her two children who have just moved to the area.

Today’s scripture reading came from the book of Matthew, chapter 16, and verses 21-28. The sermon message was “Follow Me”.

Hymns sung this morning were “Let There Be Peace on Earth”, “Where He Leads Me”, and “Take My Life”.

Rita also played “Morning Blessing” for the prelude, “Andante Cantabile” for the offertory, and “Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross” for the postlude.

This was the last Sunday in August. Time continues to march forward!! Next Sunday is Communion Sunday and all are invited to come forward and receive the elements of bread and cup.

This week as we enter into the month of September, we pray you will find peace within you, peace with everyone around you, and the “peace that passes all understanding” ~Philippians 4:7.

Please join us tomorrow on the last Sunday of August at the Saint Paris United Methodist Church, 208 W. Walnut Street. Pastor Kyle will expand on this scripture from the book of Matthew in his message to us. The worship service begins at 10:30am.

There is an Adult Sunday class that meets at 9:15am and coffee is available if you are an early riser.

It was a beautiful morning leading into a perfect day to gather and hear the message, sing the songs, pray together, and share in fellowship before and after the service.

The scripture readings came from the Gospels. The first reading was from Matthew 6: 14-15 where Jesus is talking to the disciples after teaching them the Lord’s Prayer. The second reading was Mark 12: 30-31 where Jesus speaks of two important commandments. The scriptures leading us into Pastor Kyle’s awesome message on “Forgiveness”. Thank you Pastor Kyle.

Hymns were “Old Rugged Cross”, “Breathe on Me, Breath of God”, and “Victory in Jesus”. Thank you congregation for lending your voices.

The prelude was “Oh Master, Let Me Walk with Thee”. The Offertory was “Melody for Flute” and the postlude was “Blessed Assurance”. Thank you Rita.

Many Blessings for all who assisted in the service, all who came to worship together, all who were not present, all who are in our hearts, on our minds, and prayed for!! We pray for a week of healing in body, mind, and spirit. We pray we can all find in our hearts the strength to forgive just as we have been forgiven. Thank you Lord. ✝️Amen🛐

Scrabble is a wonderful game. Scrabble has a “FREE” square. Forgiveness is a wonderful attribute of character and strength - it will set you “FREE!!”

“Forgiveness” as a Scrabble word is worth 18 points. God’s “Forgiveness” of us is priceless and our “Forgiveness” of others is our Thanks to God for all His gifts and blessings.

Please join us tomorrow at the Saint Paris UMC, 208 W. Walnut Street, at 10:30am to hear Pastor Kyle’s message on “Forgiveness.” The scripture comes from Matthew 6: 14-15 and Mark 12: 30-31. We will hear the word, sing the songs and pray the prayers, but probably won’t be counting any Scrabble points!!
