The weather is warming up. Memorial Day is around the corner. People are dusting off grills, arguing about potato salad recipes, and pretending they enjoy lawn games again.

So naturally… we made bingo a backyard BBQ theme.

Join Team lifempowered for NAMIWalks 2026 💙

We’re proud to be participating in this year’s National Alliance on Mental Illness Walk (NAMIWalks) on May 16, 2026, and we invite you to join Team lifempowered.

As we prepare for this event, we want to help raise awareness around an important distinction:

Intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are not mental illness. However, individuals with I/DD may also experience mental health conditions and deserve access to the same support, resources, and understanding as anyone else.

This year’s NAMIWalks message—Mental Health for All—reflects a shared commitment to building a community where everyone has access to care, connection, and opportunity.

By walking together, we:
• Support life-changing mental health programs
• Promote awareness and understanding
• Strengthen a more inclusive, connected community

We’re teaming up with some awesome local partners (Integrated Services Network - ISN, Advocate Access NW, Columbia County DD Program) to bring you the Walk & Roll Club—a laid-back, all-abilities way to get moving, connect, and maybe train for something official (👀 Turkey Trot, we see you).

Our crew showed up and showed OUT at the Race Against Child Abuse hosted by the Amani Center 💥

We laced up for the 5K, rocked our superhero capes, and truly put the POW in empowered. 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ The weather? Absolutely perfect. The energy? Even better.

More importantly, we were proud to show up in support of our community and the incredible work The Amani Center does to support children and families impacted by abuse. Every dollar raised from this event goes right back into helping children and strengthening our community—and that’s something we can all get behind. 💙

We also had a table set up sharing more about what we do at lifempowered, connecting with the community, and celebrating what it means to stand alongside other organizations doing meaningful work. We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up for each other.

And because no race is complete without a proper finish line celebration… we wrapped it up with a quick celebratory refreshment at Crooked Creek Brewery 🍻

Already counting down to next year—bigger team, bigger impact, same cape energy. 💙
