Monthly Lunch & Learn | Mayors Panel

Yesterday, the Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce welcomed the Mayors of Ridgefield and Washougal for our annual Mayors Panel, moderated by Chamber President Jessica Kipp.

We enjoyed a great conversation about the opportunities and challenges facing our communities, including affordable housing, transportation, economic development, and supporting local businesses.

Attendees also had the opportunity to introduce themselves, share where their businesses are based in our community, and whether they operate from a storefront, office, or remotely. It was a great reminder of the diversity of businesses and professionals represented throughout our region.

A big thank you to our participating Mayors for sharing their time and perspectives, and to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of connection, collaboration, and meaningful conversation!

October W**e-Down Wednesday: A Perfect PNW Evening!

Our October W**e-Down Wednesday was blessed with a beautiful Pacific Northwest day! The event was led by our Board President, Jessica Kipp, and brought together a wonderful group of local businesses for an evening of connection, conversation, and community.

We kicked things off with a fun icebreaker: “What would your theme song or movie be for 2026?” The answers brought plenty of smiles and laughter, ranging from “Baby Shark” to “We Are the Champions” "Don't Stop Believing" and “Welcome to the Jungle!” 🎶

With a full house, crisp autumn air, soft lighting, exquisite wines, and delectable charcuterie, the evening was the perfect setting to meet new faces, strengthen relationships, and celebrate our local business community.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us! Your presence and participation helped make this gathering such a success.

👏 A special thank-you to our Board of Directors and Blue Crew members for their generous volunteerism and for helping everything run smoothly.

And, of course, thank you to our gracious host, Columbia Ridge W**ery, for providing such a lovely setting for our evening together!

CHAMBER MEMBER SPOTLIGHT | HTG INC.

Big technology solutions, right here in Ridgefield!

This month, we're excited to spotlight HTG Inc., a company that's been helping businesses and organizations navigate their technology needs since 1996.

In 2025, HTG made Ridgefield home, moving into a 65,000-square-foot facility and bringing decades of experience in IT support, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and technology management to our community.

✨ Lunch & Learn: City Update!

Chamber President, Jessica Kipp, welcomed City Manager, Steve Stuart, and Council Member, Meghan Hamilton, for the Chamber’s annual city update.
The conversation began with quick introductions and a fun question: What is one word you would use to describe how you hope to see Ridgefield in five years from now? Some of the words shared included Community, Rooted, Service, Inclusive, Family-oriented, Thriving, Green Space, Fun, Connected, Growing, and Kind.
Several key topics were discussed throughout the presentation and audience Q&A, including:
🏡 Growth and preserving Ridgefield’s history and heritage
One great example was the old pear tree located on the property where the luncheon was held. The tree has been preserved from the original farmland that existed before the area was developed.
🏗️ Continued growth and development. The City has received several pre-applications, which are essentially an opportunity to explore and discuss potential projects before they move further into the development process. The east side of the city continues to see growth while still having available space for future development.
🚗 Traffic and infrastructure
With growth comes challenges, including traffic flow at some of the roundabouts, particularly near Costco. The City continues to evaluate the area and look for ways to improve traffic flow and infrastructure.
🏙️ Downtown Main Street
Preserving the downtown Main Street area and supporting its businesses continues to be an important topic. Ridgefield also has a Main Street Board.
Overall, it was a great opportunity for our business community to hear directly from City leadership, ask questions, and learn more about what is happening in Ridgefield.
And judging by the packed room, there was certainly a lot of interest! 👏

WHAT IF SOME OF THE TAXES YOUR BUSINESS IS ALREADY PAYING COULD HELP SUPPORT RIDGEFIELD?

The Ridgefield Chamber of Commerce is proud to help spread the word about an opportunity that allows our business community to work together to invest right here at home.

Through Washington State’s Main Street Tax Credit Incentive Program, eligible businesses can make an approved contribution to Ridgefield Main Street and receive a tax credit equal to 75% of that contribution toward their Washington B&O or Public Utility Tax liability the following year.

Here’s a simple example:

A $1,000 contribution to Ridgefield Main Street can result in a $750 B&O tax credit.

Meanwhile, those dollars help Ridgefield Main Street invest in programs that strengthen our Downtown businesses and community—from Main Street Moola and façade improvements to events, public spaces and other economic vitality efforts.

It’s a great example of what can happen when our local organizations and businesses work together: support Ridgefield, strengthen our local economy and take advantage of a valuable tax incentive at the same time.

The program is open to Washington businesses, not just businesses located Downtown, and available tax credits are limited.

🥃 W**e Down Wednesday became Wh***ey Wednesday this Month!

We held our September W**e Down Wednesday at the Neighborhood Refuge. It was more of a Wh***ey Wednesday, but the vibe was the same. Fantastic chamber members and guests enjoyed the treats, drinks, and great conversation.

Jessica Kipp led the introductions and the ice breaker question ~ identify one challenge in your business that you hope to tackle in 2027. We heard a variety of answers, including better boundaries and balancing work/life balance, being more consistent in social media posting (whew! I felt that one…), as well as folks looking to grow their teams and acquire office space. We saw folks immediately connect to provide support and recommendations.

This is why our monthly W**e Down Wednesday is so important. Connecting with our local community and supporting each other.

We appreciate the Mayor joining us tonight and several City Council members.

Another fantastic event in the books! Don’t have FOMO, join us next month.
