💙 GUS SURGERY UPDATE 💙

Gus’s surgery is complete, and unfortunately, our veterinarian did find and remove one small testicle that had not been removed during his original neuter.

We had paid for Gus’s original neuter believing the procedure had been completed. When we requested the surgical records today, we were informed that there were no records available from that procedure. They had asked for pictures from our vet to prove there was a testicle. Well we got that as well. Which I won't share here.

Today, our veterinarian confirmed that one testicle remained and had to be surgically removed.

This meant Gus had to undergo a second surgery, another round of anesthesia, pain, recovery, and activity restrictions—something that should not have been necessary if his original neuter had been completed properly.

We are incredibly thankful our veterinarian found the retained testicle and was able to take care of it, but we are understandably frustrated that Gus had to go through this.

Surgery is hard on dogs. They don't understand why they're hurting or why they suddenly have restrictions.

As a rescue, we take these procedures seriously because our dogs deserve to receive proper care the first time.

Gus is now resting and recovering, and we will be watching him closely over the next several days. ❤️🐾

🐾💙 GUS IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME! 💙🐾

We’ve had a lot of interest in Gus, and we keep hoping someone will take that next step. Unfortunately, once again, the messages stop, and no one follows through. 💔

Gus deserves a family who sees how special he is and is ready to give him the forever home he deserves!

🐶 Gus is a 6-month-old Shepherd pup who attended an event recently, and he was absolutely the sweetest boy! He's at that perfect age to learn, grow, and become an amazing lifelong companion with the right family. ❤️

✅ Up to date on vaccines
✅ Microchipped
🐾 His re-neuter surgery is October5th, and he will be available to go home once that is completed and he is cleared to go home.

We’ve had a lot of interest in Chip, and we were really hoping one of those inquiries would turn into his happily ever after. 💔 Unfortunately, once again, the messages stop, and no one follows through.

Chip deserves more than interest and promises. He deserves a family who is ready to take that next step and give him the forever home he’s been waiting for! ❤️

🎉❤️ WHAT AN AWESOME BINGO TURNOUT! ❤️🎉

I do believe with the walk in attendees we were at 275 people!!

🧵 Congratulations to Smithbauer winner of our handmade quilt! We raised an incredible $932 from the quilt raffle! 🎉

A special thank-you to Pat Hoffman for handmaking and donating the beautiful quilt, and to all our sponsors, donors, attendees, and volunteers who helped make this event a success!

We were so busy and short-handed on volunteers that we didn’t even get a chance to take pictures! 😂❤️
