From my buddy, Dwayne Pyle
As my birthday gets closer, I'm asking for one simple gift this year. Instead of buying me anything, I'd love for you to consider making a donation to Soldier Sanctuary .
This organization isn't just another nonprofit to me. When I was struggling with PTSD, Soldier Sanctuary was there for us. Its founder, retired Sergeant Major Tom Bucci i, didn't just talk about helping veterans, he showed up. He would come pick us up, get us out of the building, and remind us what it felt like to live again. We'd spend our days canoeing on the river, bicycling through the historic sites of Philadelphia, and exploring places many of us had never seen. His knowledge of the area was second to none, and every outing was designed to get us out of our comfort zones, build our confidence, and simply help us G**O and enjoy life again.
Tom specifically helps veterans like me who were coming out of inpatient PTSD treatment programs—those hard seasons where you're doing the work, but still trying to figure out how to function again in the real world.
What makes Tom even more remarkable is that so much of what Soldier Sanctuary does comes straight out of his own pocket. He genuinely believes that no veteran should have to fight their battles alone, and he lives that belief every single day.
I've seen firsthand the difference Soldier Sanctuary makes, and I wouldn't ask for your support if I didn't believe in what they're doing.
If you're able to donate, no matter the amount, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every dollar helps another veteran find hope, purpose, and a reason to keep moving forward. And if donating isn't possible, sharing this post would mean just as much.
Thank you for helping me celebrate another trip around the sun by supporting an organization that helped me find my footing again. Much love to all of you. ❤️🇺🇸
