Delta Chapter President James's soft-spoken yet decisive leadership style guided the meeting efficiently and thoroughly, leaving us with plenty of time to enjoy fellowship afterward.
We were also delighted to welcome two new members, Scott Lau and Millie D**g, into our chapter. In addition, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Jean Yokotobi for her continued generosity in opening her office for our meetings.

It is with great pleasure to report to you that our inaugural fundraising event was a tremendous success! We raised over $9,000, which will provide us with strong financial resources as we prepare for the upcoming year.
This successful event also served as an excellent opportunity for members throughout our region to collaborate and engage in a large-scale project together.
The purpose of our CVR Board is to serve APAPA as a collective working group at the regional level, enabling us to create and execute projects. In doing so, we can also allow our APAPA headquarters staff to dedicate more of its resources and energy toward initiatives at the state and national levels.
Our event was successful due to the support of all our chapters, especially the guidance of Solano Chapter’s APAPA historian Amy Fabi in preparing the silent auction; Jessica Cross of the Elk Grove Chapter, who generously sponsored most of our food and wine; Dr. Cathy Yang and Lilian of the North State Chapter, who carefully handled our finances; and last but not least, James Xiao of the Delta Chapter, who managed our Eventbrite platform and steadfastly checked in all our guests throughout the event.
I would also like to thank the chapters that supported us through their participation in the process, presence, and contributions — President Jack Thor of Butte County Chapter, President Jason Lee of Sacramento Chapter, and Bob Dutta of Folsom Chapter, who also brought two silent auction items.
Finally, I would like to thank the Davis Chapter for its participation in the process and the Merced Chapter for its generous donation.
Speaking of the process, Vice Chair Cathy Yang was always there every step of the way, giving me some of the most crucial advice.
After today’s primary election, we begin our work in planning our next event, which will be a CVR voter's forum. With the financial resources raised, we will use this forum to educate the community and to support the mission of APAPA.
Together, we are building not only successful events, but also stronger community, unity, and leadership throughout our region.

With our founder CC Yin’s vision, energy, and resources, APAPA was propelled to remarkable
growth during its first twenty-five years. Outstanding programs were developed to advance our
Asian Pacific Islander community, and new chapters sprang up to carry these programs forward
with passion and purpose.
In the face of this tremendous expansion, the APAPA Central Valley Region was created to guide
smaller groups of chapters, restore agility, and strengthen organizational integrity. The APAPA
Central Valley Regional Board was created to fulfill that mission.
I am deeply honored to serve as the chair of this regional board. With the support of all our
chapters, we have made this fundraising event possible. This funding will enable us to organize
events at the regional level, support headquarters in pursuing even larger initiatives, and, most
importantly, foster camaraderie and unity among our local chapters.
Today’s event was made possible by the collaboration of all our chapters, especially the guidance
of our APAPA historian, Amy Fabi of the Solano Chapter; Jessica Cross of the Elk Grove
Chapter, who sponsored most of our food and wine; Cathy Yang and Lilian of the North State
Chapter, who handled our finances; and last but not least, James Xiao of the Delta Chapter, who
managed our Eventbrite platform. Thank you to the APAPA HQ for their support in this event.
We have two rows of Lapin cherry trees for you. Lapin cherries are a cross between the Van and
Stella varieties. They are hardy, deep red in color, and known for being sweet and flavorful.
Because they usually ripen a little later than other varieties, this is the perfect time for our
cherry-picking party.
I hope everyone will fully enjoy the activities before us—picking cherries, sharing fellowship
among chapter members, strengthening old friendships, building new connections, and, most
importantly, beginning to envision and plan our next great project together.
