The APAPA booth at the CNYCA Chinese new year market was proudly staffed by our Central Valley Regional Board members and the stars of headquarters. Their enthusiasm and strong presence attracted a steady stream of visitors, including many elected officials who made it a point to stop by and join the conversation.

It was a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon at the California State Railroad Museum meeting a group of talented and passionate actors who produced a play in Chinese named Silent Spikes - a Chinese Transcontinental railroad workers story. My new takeaway was from the talk given by David Yee, the 5th generation descendant from Dr. Yee Fung Cheong of Fiddletown. He successfully treated lady Leeland Stanford for her severe respiratory illness with Mahuang (麻黄) while the contemporary western doctors had given up. Hearing it from David, it confirmed what I read was not a myth.
We were then treated with an incredible sushi lunch at Ebisu owned by our national leader Tony Lin.
