Camp Patriot Animal Rescue & Sanctuary

Welcome to Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, a place where animals in need find safety, love, and a second chance at life. But we can't do it alone.

Founded by lifelong animal lovers Nick Jongebloed and Tara Ballard, our sanctuary is more than just a rescue—it's a dream come true, a promise kept, and a commitment to providing a safe haven for animals who need it most. At Camp Patriot, we currently care for a diverse group of rescued animals, currently including 25 dogs, 8 cats, 7 pigs, and 8 goats. Each animal has its own unique story and deserves a loving environment to heal, grow, and thrive. Our sanctuary provides that environment, offering both foster care and permanent sanctuary for animals who need long-term support. We need your help to continue our mission. Here's how you can support Camp Patriot and make a difference in the lives of these wonderful animals:

One-Time or Recurring Donation: Your donation goes directly toward our animal food and vet costs, which run into the thousands of dollars each month. With so many mouths to feed, every contribution counts. Whether it's a one-time gift or a monthly pledge, your support helps us keep our animals healthy and happy. You can donate here: www.givesendgo.com/cprescue

Sponsor An Animal: See a pup that you love, but can't adopt? You can choose to sponsor them with a monthly donation that will go towards care. Anything in Between: From volunteering your time to donating food and supplies, there are countless ways to get involved. Every gesture of support helps us continue our work and expand our impact. Amazon Wishlist: We'll be sharing this soon! By donating to Camp Patriot, you're not just supporting an animal rescue—you’re joining a community of compassionate individuals dedicated to making a real difference. Together, we can ensure that these animals receive the care and love they deserve. Thank you for considering a donation to Camp Patriot Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. Your generosity fuels our mission and brings hope to the animals who call our sanctuary home.

🐾 To our Camp Patriot family 🐾

For nearly two years, we've stepped in when animals had nowhere else to go. Neglected, abandoned, injured, or simply overlooked, we gave them safety, medical care, and time to heal. None of that would have been possible without you. Every donation, every share, every comment of encouragement, it all mattered, and it all added up to real lives saved.

As we shared in our last update, we're winding down CPARS's operations and transitioning our work to wonderful partners here in the county who will carry this mission forward.

We are no longer accepting donations, and we've closed new giving on both our Zeffy and GiveSendGo pages. If you're one of our recurring supporters there, you should have already heard from us directly, or will in the next few days, with everything you need to know on your end. If you don't see that note by early next week, please reach out to us so we can make sure it finds you.

What hasn't changed is our commitment to the dogs still in our care. We're continuing to place every one of them in loving homes, and we'll keep celebrating each of those wins right here with you.
Thank you for standing with us and with them, from day one through this new chapter. We could not have done any of it without this community.

💙 With so much gratitude,
The Camp Patriot Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Team

🐾 Meet Max
🐕 Breed: German Shepherd
🎂 Age: 6 years
📏 Size: Large

Max is a large, classic German Shepherd with a steady, easygoing temperament. He spent time in our care fully vetted, heartworm negative, and current on his rabies vaccination before finding his people.

🎉 Adopted October 14, 2026!

Max is officially home with his family, who've stuck with him through his trial period and are now making it permanent! We're so grateful to this family for their patience and commitment. Congratulations, Max — enjoy that happy ending! 🐾❤️

Another Happy Tails Report!

R***r has been ADOPTED in less than a week after his transport to a rescue further north!!

R***r had been at CPARS for a LONG time - at least two years, if not longer.

This is unfortunately the issue with being in a rural community. Lots of dogs being dumped, not a lot of adopters coming forward.

This is why so many rural rescues and shelters in the southeast transfer. It means a better chance at adoption, which means a better life for the animal.

We are so tickled that R***r finally found his person...he deserves that so much!

🐾 Meet Alani

🐕 Breed: Mixed Terrier
🎂 Age: 3 years
📏 Size: Medium

Alani is the perfect mix of goofy, playful, and affectionate. This happy girl loves to stay busy, loves her people, and always seems to be smiling. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you laughing and keep you moving, Alani might be your perfect match!
She's a smart cookie who's food-motivated and eager to please — treats are basically her love language, and she'll happily trot off to her “room” on command when there's one involved. She's the kind of dog who genuinely wants to get it right, and it shows.
Alani is a total people-person, too — she's completely at ease with everyone she meets, men and women alike, and lights up around new faces.
She does great with other dogs and would likely love having a canine playmate in her new home. She hasn't been tested with cats, kids, or other animals just yet, so we can't speak to those quite yet — but given how easygoing she is with everyone else, we're hopeful!
One of the things that makes Alani extra special is her adorable freckles, which give her the cutest, most unique look to match her fun personality.

✅ Ideal Home:
🏃 Active family
🏠 Fenced yard preferred
🐕 Another playful dog would be a bonus
❤️ Someone who wants a fun, loving companion

Alani is spayed and up to date on her rabies vaccination.

🎉 Adopted October 2026!

Alani found her forever family after settling in with one of our partners! We're beyond thrilled for this sweet girl and so grateful to everyone who helped get her from Camp Patriot to her new front door. Congratulations, Alani — go enjoy that happy ending! 🐾❤️
