🎃 Happy Halloween from the Art Association of Rutherford!

There’s something wonderfully creative about the spooky, strange, and mysterious side of art! In the spirit of Halloween, we’ve gathered a little gallery of works from our talented members that embrace everything from the eerie and unusual to the downright creepy.

It’s always fun to see where our members’ imaginations take them, especially when they venture into the darker side of creativity!

Wishing everyone a fun, safe, and delightfully spooky Halloween from all of us at the AAR! 👻

We love getting the chance to celebrate what our AAR members are creating and where their artwork is showing!

A big congratulations to Sasha Keys (Sasha Keys Art) , whose fun and imaginative Blooming Crabs are now on display at the Newark Public Library.

The exhibition features nine archival giclée prints of Sasha’s original watercolor paintings, each with its own personality, emotion, and story. And yes, these crabs really do have flowers growing out of their eyes!

The show opened September 26 and will be on display through the end of the year, so if you’re in Newark, stop by, take a look, and see which Blooming Crab speaks to you.

Congratulations, Sasha! We’re always happy to see our members sharing their work out in the community. 🌸🦀

Well, it wouldn't be an Art Association of Rutherford event without a little excitement along the way!

After a weekend power outage, a few unexpected hiccups, and some last-minute rearranging, I'm thrilled to announce that our Fall Art Exhibition at the Lyndhurst Public Library is officially on display!

And I have to say, it looks fantastic!

We've brought together an incredible collection of artwork from our talented AAR members, each with their own unique style, perspective, and creativity. The exhibition will be on display through December 19, giving everyone plenty of time to stop by and explore!

A huge thank-you to Donna Romeo, Director of the for welcoming us into this wonderful space, working through a few surprises with us, and being such a fantastic partner. We're incredibly proud to bring more local art into the community through this collaboration.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our participating artists! And a special personal thank-you to Carin Loeffel, who joined me Monday morning to help arrange and hang all the artwork. Let's just say she deserves an award for putting up with me while we figured out where everything should go!

Over the coming weeks, we'll be highlighting each participating artist and sharing a closer look at their work. For now, enjoy this first look at the exhibition!

Want to experience it in person?

Here's to celebrating local talent, building new partnerships, and bringing a little more art into everyday life!
