Something about early summer, a park full of people, and art set up under the open sky just feels right.

That’s exactly what’s coming to Hackensack.

Join several AAR members as we take part in Arts in the Park, alongside the Hackensack Art Club and the Garden Club of Hackensack. It’s one of those events where the whole community shows up… artists, families, performers, and people just looking to spend a good day outside surrounded by creativity.
🗓 Saturday, June 6
⏰ 10 AM – 4 PM
📍 Johnson Park, 444 River Street, Hackensack, NJ

Expect a full day… local artists and artisans, handmade work, live performances, food vendors, and even a free Zumba class to kick things off. It’s energetic, it’s welcoming, and it’s a great way to see what our local creative community is all about.

We’re especially excited to see AAR members out there showcasing their work and connecting with the public. Events like this are where conversations start, opportunities happen, and new ideas take shape.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved in a local show, this is a fantastic one. There are still a few spots open, but they won’t last long. If it feels like the right fit, now’s the time to jump in and secure your place.

There’s a moment, just before you walk into a show, where you don’t quite know what you’re about to feel… and then something catches you and pulls you in.

That’s what’s waiting tonight at The Nutley Free Public Library

Our member Corrie Siegenthaler opens their solo exhibition Shattered Memories, a body of work that lives between watercolor softness and imaginative, stylized storytelling. Their figures carry a chibi influence, but what they express goes much deeper… color-driven emotion, quiet vulnerability, and moments that feel both playful and personal.

As you move through the space, you start to notice the layers. The way color sets the mood before you even register the subject. The way expression shifts from piece to piece. And woven through it all, a subtle, mature edge… a hint of sensuality that adds depth without ever taking over.

It’s a show that invites you in gently, then stays with you.

🗓 Tonight | 6–8 PM
📍 93 Booth Dr, Nutley, NJ

Come experience it for yourself.

"Tomorrow’s the night 🎨

Join us in supporting our member Corrie Siegenthaler as they open their solo exhibition Shattered Memories at the Nutley Public Library.

This powerful collection brings together watercolor works and digital paintings centered on intimate portraiture. The pieces feel honest, raw, and deeply expressive, capturing personal narratives that move between traditional and digital worlds in a way that really stays with you.

If you’ve followed Corrie’s work, you already know how they blur the line between reality and emotion. If you haven’t yet, this is the perfect chance to experience it up close.

🗓 Artist Reception: Tomorrow {May 28th) | 6–8 PM
📍 93 Booth Dr, Nutley, NJ

Stop by, say hello, and spend some time with work that invites you to slow down and feel something.

We’re heading into the final days of “Powder & Line: A Study of Women Through the Ages” at COCCIA Realty in Rutherford.

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by yet, now is the time.

This series has been about slowing things down. Letting charcoal and pastel do what they do best. Capturing the quiet strength, the subtle emotion, and the presence of women across different eras without overcomplicating it.

It’s been incredible hearing the different interpretations people have shared. Some see strength. Some see softness. Some see stories that feel personal to them. That’s exactly what this series was meant to do.

Thank you again to Better Homes and Gardens Coccia Realty and Frank DiCocco for the opportunity and for continuing to support local artists in such a visible way.

The display comes down at the end of May, so if you’re nearby, take a moment to stop, look, and experience it before it’s gone.

Tonight at 9 PM, submissions close for the AAR Juried Show at the Johnson Public Library.

After that… the room is set.

Every year, there are artists who come to the opening, walk through the gallery, and say the same thing:

“I should have entered.”

Because once the work is up, you see it.

You see the level.
You see the range.
You see how your work would have fit right into that space.

And more importantly, you see what comes with it…

People stopping in front of pieces.
Real conversations happening in the gallery.
Sales. Recognition. Prize money.
Invitations to other shows and spaces.

All for:

$20 for members (up to 3 works)
$55 for non-members (up to 3 works)

If your work is ready, don’t overthink this.

Take the 10 minutes. Submit it. Be in the room.

Deadline: Tonight, 9 PM

If you’ve been meaning to stop by KIP to see Myrna Richards’ featured exhibition, this is your sign. We’re in the final days.

Myrna’s oil paintings offer something rare. They don’t rush you. They invite you in slowly, asking you to notice the details, the light, the quiet emotion in each piece. From expressive portraiture to scenes that feel like glimpses into another place, her work is about connection. That moment when you feel like you’ve truly seen something.

As a self-taught artist and active member of the Art Association of Rutherford, Myrna continues to build a body of work that feels both personal and universal. This month’s display has been a chance to experience that up close.

Don’t miss it.

Take a few minutes, stop by 55 Kip Center , and see the work for yourself before it comes down.

Have you checked out the works of Corrie Siegenthaler at Bellibone Salon?

This ongoing installation showcases the evolution of Corrie’s work, from their earlier abstract figural pieces to their current explorations in watercolor, digital illustration, and beyond. It’s a unique look at how an artist grows, shifts, and refines their voice over time.
