Did you know?

Lay women were admitted to the College for the first time in 1963, and In 1967 the state approved the institution to begin offering four-year degrees under its new name Felician College. After previously only admitting men to limited programs, the school became fully co-educational in 1986. The first master’s programs were offered in 1995, and two years later Felician purchased the Rutherford campus. To reflect its range and quality of academic offerings, in 2015 New Jersey’s Secretary of Education approved the school’s designation as a University.

Day of Giving starts today, and to kick it off we are looking back on Founder’s Day.

The University was founded by the Felician Sisters of Lodi, New Jersey, it began as Immaculate Conception Normal School with the first summer session beginning on July 5, 1923. On May 27, 1935, the Normal School was raised to the status of a teacher training college approved by and affiliated with the Catholic University of America. The institution became reorganized as a junior college in 1941, and on March 26, 1942, it was incorporated under the laws of the State of New Jersey as Immaculate Conception Junior College.
