We’ll be having our first meeting of the year this WEDNESDAY (8/19) in Room 117 from 3–4 PM!

New to the club? No problem! Joining Conservation Club is as easy as showing up—no dues, no paperwork, and no prior experience needed!

On the fence about joining? Check out the attached info to see what we’re all about, then feel free to try us out this week! There’s no commitment necessary—just come hang out, meet the group, and see if Conservation Club is for you.

Each year, KAEE recognizes individuals and organizations who demonstrate outstanding dedication, commitment, and influence in the field of environmental education. This year’s honorees are:

🍀Rising Star: Dylan Wilson
🍀 Outstanding Business: Blues End Farm
🍀 Outstanding Government Agency: Lexington Parks & Recreation’s Division of Natural Areas

We are proud to have them as part of our network and can’t wait to honor them at the 2026 KAEE Conference in Lexington, Kentucky! Awards will be presented with dinner on Thursday, November 12 at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Lexington/UK Coldstream.

So excited to share that Russell High School has been recognized by The Kentucky Association for Environmental Education as the 2026 Kentucky Green School of the Year! 🌱

Our kids have worked so hard throughout our inaugural year in the program and I am so proud of what they've accomplished. Their work will be recognized at the KAEE Annual Conference in Lexington this November.

Stay tuned for more about this awesome accomplishment as well as updates on our big plans for the 2026-2027 school year. 🌎

The Russell High School Conservation Club is proud to share that we have been recognized as a Gold-Level Kentucky Green School by the Kentucky Association for Environmental Education. 🏆🌱

Throughout the year, our students conducted investigations and completed action projects across five key focus areas: water, energy, waste & recycling, school environment, and school site. This accomplishment is especially meaningful as it marks our very first year participating in the Green Schools program. Even more impressive, Russell High School is the first school to successfully complete all requirements for Gold certification within a single year.
