If you didnโ€™t work at OLBH, itโ€™s really hard to explain the sense of โ€œfamilyโ€ the employees felt. How everyone just looked after each other, still do 6 years after the hospital closed its doors. I came to work today and โ€œsomeoneโ€ had snuck over and mowed and w**d eated our new place. We are still under construction but there were definite places that were needing some attention. Thank you Loren Quillen with Quillenโ€™s Lawn Service for still taking care of your old friends without even being asked to. We appreciate you BIG! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ

Congratulations to Russell High School graduate, Cooper McClelland, for receiving the Robert E. Yancey, Sr. Scholarship.

This scholarship was originally established to assist OLBH employees with their healthcare-related college tuition. Upon the closing of OLBH, Susan Yancey Farmer, Robertโ€™s daughter chose to utilize the endowment for scholarships for qualifying Ashland Blazer and Russell High School graduating seniors attending Marshall University after graduation. The endowment was created in memory of Robert E. Yancey, Sr., who spent many decades employed at Ashland Incorporated and was a former president. It was established by the Yancey family, including his late widow, Estelline, his late son, Robert Yancey, Jr. and his daughter, Susan Yancey Farmer. โ€œMy father was dedicated to helping this community and the people who live in the area,โ€ Farmer had once said. โ€œI know he would be very proud to see that some of the rewards he earned are being put back in the community.โ€
