We’ll be out serving our community with Labor Day & Patriot Day flag deployment and pickup, enjoying some fellowship over a great meal, and coming together to brainstorm fundraising and event ideas for the year ahead!

We had such a wonderful time at last week’s Hometown Heroes: United Under the Stars Banquet! ✨

It was an honor to have one of our very own Rotarians and Interact Sponsor, Karri Dawes, recognized at Teacher of the Year! What an amazing accomplishment!

We are so thankful for Karri and her dedication to her students, club, and community. 💙 Keep on making District 5810 proud!

Thank you to all of the other club members and family that helped make this night one to remember.

What a great meeting!

We were excited to present Keep Rowlett Beautiful, Inc. with a $2,500 contribution to support the work they’re doing to keep Rowlett clean, beautiful, and welcoming. From community cleanups and beautification projects to recycling and education, their efforts make a real difference right here in our community. 🌳🌎

We also had the chance to celebrate our 2026 Official Camp RYLA District 5810 attendees, Colton Crum and Ellie Cummings! 🎉 Hearing them share their stories and talk about their experiences at RYLA was such a highlight. It’s always exciting to see young people grow in confidence, leadership, and connection.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support organizations and young leaders who are making Rowlett a better place. ❤️

🎒 Rowlett Rotary is helping students start the school year ready to learn!

We’re giving a big shout-out to the Rowlett Rotary Club for their wonderful work at Back Elementary’s Porch Party last week!

With the help of dedicated Rotarian volunteers and community supporters, the club packaged 500 school supply kits and provided one to every Back Elementary student. ✏️📚🎒

This is what Service Above Self looks like—Rotarians coming together with their community to make a meaningful difference for local students.

Thank you, Rowlett Rotary, for being People of Action and helping our young people begin the school year with the tools they need to succeed! 👏

The Rowlett Rotary Club remembers Past District Governor Ray Kneggs, a true Rotarian who embodied Service Above Self.

Ray’s leadership, friendship, and dedication made a lasting impact on our club, our district, and our community. His example of service and commitment will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We are grateful for his legacy and the difference he made. 💙

The City of Rowlett flag will be lowered to half-staff on Friday, August 14 in honor of former City Councilmember Ray Kneggs, Sr., who passed away August 8 at the age of 90.

Mr. Kneggs was a longtime community leader, businessman and public servant whose contributions helped shape Rowlett during important years of the City's growth.

His service to the City spanned two periods. He served as a Rowlett Alderman from 1975–1977, including a year as Mayor Pro Tem, and returned to public office as a City Councilmember from 1980–1982, again serving his final year as Mayor Pro Tem. He continued contributing his time and leadership to City committees and boards in the years that followed.

Mr. Kneggs' impact on Rowlett also extended well beyond elected office. A longtime businessman and developer, he developed and built the 1st Rowlett Center, the City's first shopping center, helping establish an early foundation for commercial growth in the community. He was also instrumental in efforts to bring Highway 190 — today's President George Bush Turnpike — through Rowlett, a transportation connection that would have a lasting impact on the City's growth and accessibility.

At the request of Mayor Jeff Winget, the City of Rowlett flag will be flown at half-staff Friday in recognition of Mr. Kneggs' service and lasting contributions to Rowlett.

The City of Rowlett extends its sincere condolences to his wife of 71 years, Shirley, the Kneggs family, and all those who knew and loved him. His legacy of service and commitment to this community will remain an enduring part of Rowlett's story.

Thanks to the help of our volunteers, we were able to package 500 school supply kits and share them with every Back Elementary student. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support from our community and, of course, our dedicated Rotarians! 💙

As always, we’d like to thank you, Rowlett, for giving us the opportunity to give back. Through your donations, support of our flagship programs, and dedicated service hours, we’re able to do great things in this community. Let’s continue to work together to support the next generation of leaders and service-minded individuals. 🤗

A special shoutout to Mahnken Painting & More for helping make this a true family event! 💙 It was such a joy spending time with local business owners who are passionate about giving back and teaching their children the value of putting Service Above Self.

A huge thank you as well to British Swim School of Garland-Rowlett for generously donating gift certificates for the students. Your support and generosity are truly appreciated!
