We were honored to join other members of Thrive New Jersey today as Governor Sherrill signed S2260/A2218, the Patient and Provider Protection Bill, into law. Thank you to the governor and members of the NJ legislature who worked to pass S2260/A2218 – which strengthens protections for everyone accessing or providing reproductive and gender-affirming care in New Jersey. The new law expands “shield” laws which protect providers from retaliation and helps ensure safe access to care without harassment or obstruction.

Tovah is a long-time and fervent advocate for reproductives rights and a proud member of the Thrive New Jersey coalition which works collectively to promote sexual and reproductive health and justice through policy change and advocacy.

The 19th Amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote was ratified on this day (August 18) in 1920. Today, more than 100 years later, voting rights for all remain under pressure.

Join Tovah for Power Up the Vote next month, a non-partisan event focused on encouraging people to go to cast their ballots.

Join us for POWER UP the VOTE, a Community Engagement Action Day featuring hands-on activities and a speaker from Voter Choice New Jersey. Come by on Tuesday, September 15 between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm in Livingston to learn more about the upcoming election and participate in activities to help encourage voters to cast their ballots. It is also National Voter Registration Day, so make sure you and your friends and family are ready to cast a ballot this fall.

Power Up the Vote is free and open to all with a suggested donation of first-class postage stamps for the letters we will be writing. Registration is required.

Tovah (formerly NCJW Essex) helped establish CASA Essex four decades ago — and they haven't stopped showing up since. This back-to-school season, they're at it again, donating supplies to help children in foster care start the year ready to learn, grow, and thrive.

From founding us to fueling us, has been part of the CASA Essex story from the very beginning. Thank you for four decades of standing with our kids!

New name yet same mission - our annual Back to School Store helps prepare students and parents for the upcoming academic year with school supplies, clothing, resources and much more!
