We just want to say how much we appreciate the hospitality of JCPenny at Town Center and Saturday and Sunday!

The quality of each contact we made was outstanding, and time well-spent. The employees and staff were wonderfully helpful at every turn. We experienced many 'chance' meetings and had many heartfelt conversations that transcended coincidence. We were able to tell our story to new friends.

Growing new relationships is crucial to ensure we have sufficient volunteer support to move forward and achieve our mission that NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN.

Every chance we get to tell our story can open doors, build our network, make new friends, and be a blessing in unimaginable ways; we are very grateful to JCPENNEY you for your welcome and your kind support.

What a weekend!

Friday: Rockmart FMC delivered 10 beds locally - just imagine for a minute - that's 10 kids that had an exciting and happy weekend because of the willingness of this congregation TO GIVE and TO GO! These kiddos will forever remember the kindness and love that this church showed them.

Saturday: Up early for a little road trip, where many chapters came together to support the Lafayette chapter rebuild "from the ashes" of the fire they recently had. Lowe's was AMAZING and instrumental in the success of this project!

Saturday afternoon: Team Wisenburg delivers FOUR more beds to kids that had none. (And their air mattresses had met an untimely fate.) This was a very happy family.

Sunday: Chapter leader Steve Wisenburg and bride made the much shorter road trip to be the guests of Rehoboth Baptist Church, where they showered SHP -Etowah Valley with blessings, a warm welcome and gifts that included enough bedding to fill the car! This church has a HUGE HEART! We love you guys and appreciate you more than you can possibly know!

A warm-hearted thank you to ALL who work so hard in so many ways to be the "hands and feet", and to put sweet little heads in beds! Everything you do matters! Your kindness and faithfulness ripple into your community to lift up those that are struggling and hurting, and you fill our hearts with joy and hope!

NOTE: It's getting a bit warm to build beds, but we are still available to our community! Please reach out if you'd like SHP to come speak with your group about our mission.

On June 4-5, SHP Etowah Valley was joined by partner chapters North Atlanta, Dawsonville, Columbus, and Macon at the Georgia World Congress Center for a very significant Bed Build with present and future leaders. In collaboration with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, 300 SkillsUSA students put their training and teamwork into action with a hands‑on community service project.

This incredible event (sponsored by State Farm, 3M, and IAA) brought together about 19,000 students, instructors, and partners, representing 100 different trades, all united by a shared commitment to serve. It was a blessing and a privilege to partner with SkillsUSA on this memorable day. These students didn’t just show off their skills—they gave back in a meaningful way. Together with SHP partners and teammates, they completed 87 beds that will soon become places of rest and dignity for children who need them.

We were honored to meet many SkillsUSA participants that are actively "building" better tomorrows for themselves, while also helping to literally build better tomorrows for others!

On Saturday May 30, two delivery teams rescued twelve (12) beds from a lonely storage facility to help them find new homes and families! These beds have now been paired with 12 contented kids in the Kennesaw and Ackworth areas - yes, our delivery area is that big! (We pray for leaders and crews for each delivery area!)

If you or your organization, group, or class would like to be a part of this wonderful blessing, and make some kids really contented, please reach out to us. The training is minimal and pretty much anyone can assemble a bed and make it up. You don't have to have a truck, but it sure helps if you do. You don't have to give your whole day...just a few hours will help tremendously. And we will never send you out alone - there are always helping hands to make the task easy!

Our current WAITING LIST is at 337. If you just want to make a couple deliveries, you are making an impact and giving SO much more than a bed! When they see your crew coming, you are all HEROES to that family. When you invest in our youth, you are making a brighter future for everyone. And, yet somehow, you end up feeling like the one who got the blessing.

On Saturday, May 9th, JCPenney at Town Center Mall invited SHP to come share our story and our mission for the day, inside their store! We set up camp with another chapter, SHP North Atlanta and it was an absolute blast to work with the young chapter, as well as the welcoming team at JCPENNEY.

Any bedding purchased in the store was discounted, even sale and clearance items! In fact, the store discounted the entire purchase when buyers helped support our cause!

It was a great day and such an honor to be featured and supported in this way by such this long-standing ICON retailer. And we made some fabulous new friends!

This collaboration will happen again in June. :-)

We will be with Sleep in Heavenly Peace - GA, Atlanta N at Town Center Mall's JC Penny's this Saturday to collect bedding for kids in our community.
