Camp Roger

Camp Roger Camp Roger is a great place for kids! Hope to see you soon! Camp Roger’s ministry was founded on the same principles that we live by today.

With summer overnight camp, summer day camp, outdoor education programs for students, a homeschool program, and facilities to rent--we have opportunities for everyone to GET OUTSIDE. Our mission is to encounter and celebrate God’s love for his children through relationships and experiences in Creation. Camp Roger’s focus is on these main areas: summer camps, outdoor education, and retreats and ren

tals at two locations, Camp Roger in Rockford, Michigan, and Camp Scottie in Howard City, Michigan. Through summer overnight camp and day camp, we have the opportunity to impact the lives of over 2,000 kids each year with the love of God in a traditional camp setting. Through environmental education classes, team-building activities, and Get Outside (GO) Days, our outdoor education team teaches over 11,000 traditional, private, and homeschooled students each year. Both campuses offer a variety of options for daytime or overnight rental facilities, whether for a school group, church youth group, family reunion, or business retreat. Our newest adventure is The Acorn Resale Shop in Rockford, Michigan. This volunteer-staffed retail store uses proceeds from the sale of donated goods to provide affordable, accessible ways for kids to attend camp. We cannot say enough thanks to our dear friends at Wolverine Construction for their commitment to finding a way to build this bridge at Camp Scottie, create a safe way for kids to journey across, and still make it a natural (and beautiful) addition to our property. You worked for years to capture and create the vision and endured the heat of this summer as you built. Our campers loved cheering you on!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Let the adventures begin!

Session 11 — Your film is here. This (last!) week, Nia encourages counselors to present meaningful objects to campers.

To explore this concept of favorite creations, campers discovered their favorite objects within the outdoors—mushrooms, frogs, fish, and more! And we’ve ended the week rested, restored, and curious.

School may be starting again, but our programs aren’t ending! We will be continuing our outdoor education programs starting next week—homeschool, go-days, school field trips, and more. If you can’t join us, we hope to see you all again back in the summer!

In the meantime, view this film to experience this week’s program 💚🐸🐠

Session 10 — Your film is here. This week, Hailey Grace “HG”talked about living a loving life. We explored what that means.

What a meaningful week we had—of shared singing, collective excitement, trail running, and new friendships. 🎻🏃🏻‍♂️🏕️🪨

Session 9 — Your film is here. This week, Beekie talked about the idea of SIBKIS, See It Big, Keep It Simple, and how sometimes along the way, we need support from those around us in order to get involved.

This is why we’re here—to experience creation and belonging, while building relationships to support that. Thank you staff and counselors for building such a safe place for all campers, and we appreciate all of our support as we continue to build this culture. 🤍🏃🏻‍♂️🫂
