100 Men Club Pontiac – Q2 Meeting Recap

What a fantastic evening at the Pontiac Transportation Museum! Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our June 4th meeting another success.

✅ 33 voting members attended in person
✅ 10 local charities were nominated
✅ 5 new members joined our growing organization

After an exciting nomination and drawing process, our membership selected:
🏆 Neway Works, Inc. (nominated by Brandon Young) as our featured charity recipient.
Also drawn for final consideration were:
• Heart of Christ Clinic (nominated by Wally Dudan)
• St. Joseph's Helpers (nominated by Howard Margolis)

A special thank you to Max Muncey for joining us and providing an update on the incredible work being done by the U Can-Cer Vive Foundation. Max shared how our previous donation has directly impacted their mission and the individuals they serve. Hearing these success stories reminds us exactly why we do what we do.

💙 Making an Impact in Our Community 💙

The 100 Men Club was proud to present our latest charitable donation to U Can-Cer Vive, a remarkable organization dedicated to advancing local cancer research and support.

Founded by siblings Ryan and Kelley LaFontaine, Team LaFontaine U CAN-CER VIVE is committed to providing vital funding for cancer research grants right here in our community.

A special thank you to Dan Muncey for nominating this incredibly worthy cause, and to the LaFontaine Automotive Group family and the U CAN-CER VIVE Board of Directors for their passion and leadership in driving this mission forward.

We had a fantastic turnout from our 100 Men Club members for the check presentation, including:
Martin Kinsella, Brian O'Keefe, David Griffin, Wally Dudun, Matthew Vazana, Kendal Bush, Dan Muncey.

With this contribution, the 100 Men Club has now surpassed $400,000 in donations to Southeast Michigan charities since 2017 — a milestone we’re incredibly proud of.

Meet the Jack Philip Scholarship — one of the most heartfelt parts of our annual Threads for Success event.
In January 2022, just one month before his passing, our beloved founder Rob Wachler created this scholarship in the name of his grandson, Jack. Rob's wish was simple and beautiful: that Jack grow up understanding the power of giving back — and of asking others to join you in that mission.

Jack has honored that wish every single year since. In his own words: "My grandfather told me, with great pride, of the difference a simple suit and experience could make on these kids."
This year, Jack is working to raise $3,000 for the scholarship — $2,000 will go to one deserving winner, selected based on their personal story, achievements, and dreams for the future. The remaining $1,000 will be used to buy brand new dress shirts for EVERY participant at Saturday's event.

🏁 What a Night at M1 Concourse!
The 100 Men Club kicked off 2026 in high gear with an exceptional turnout for our first meeting of the year. A special thank you to Dan Izydorek for graciously hosting us at his M1 Concourse condo, providing a unique venue that many of our members were experiencing for the first time. Dan’s hospitality was on full display — along with an incredible collection of cars that made the evening even more memorable.
We had 32 members attend in person, with several others joining virtually. It was also a great night for growth as we proudly welcomed 5 new members to the 100 Men Club community.
The three nominated charities drawn for the evening were:
• UCANSERVIVE – nominated by Dan Muncey
• Detroit Sports Media – nominated by Bobby Keys
• Compassion Pregnancy Center – nominated by Mark Besh
After the draw, U CAN-CER VIVE was selected as the evening’s recipient, and the 100 Men Club will present a $10,000 donation to support their important work.
About U CAN-CER VIVE:
The UCANcerVIVE Foundation is a Michigan-based nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for cancer research with the goal of creating a cancer-free world. Founded by siblings Ryan and Kelley LaFontaine, the organization is run by volunteers and directs 100% of the profits from its fundraising efforts toward cancer research grants and support initiatives in Michigan hospitals and research institutions. https://ucancervive.com/

After watching Team USA Hockey bring home gold, it’s a great reminder of what happens when a team shows up, works together, and plays with purpose.
