Your love has changed my life.
The songs we sing are more than lyrics. They are powerful declarations of truth over our lives.
“God, You are my everything.”
But what does it look like to declare that truth even when life doesn’t feel that way?
This past Sunday, as we continued our Unshakable Faith series through the book of Daniel, we were reminded of the importance of having anchors for our faith. Our secret place with the Lord is where we are built up, strengthened, and prepared to stand firm when life throws unexpected circumstances our way.
When we cultivate a life rooted in His presence and His Word, we don’t have to crumble when the storms come. We can stand confidently in who God is and what He says about us, regardless of what is happening around us. Because the truth is, we can easily lose sight of who we are when we aren’t rooted in what God says is true.
A classmate’s comment about our character, a parent’s words spoken in anger, or the sting of rejection can leave us feeling shaken, questioning our worth and what God has spoken over our lives.
That’s why our time with the Lord matters so deeply. We don’t run to Him only when the storms come. We build our lives with Him before they ever arrive. To declare, “God, You are my everything,” even in the seasons when we don’t feel it, is to anchor our hearts in the unchanging truth of who He is.
Wherever you find yourself in your walk with the Lord today, make time to meet with Him in the secret place. Be honest about what you’re experiencing, what you’re feeling, and what you’re struggling to understand. Open His Word, make room to listen, and allow His truth to shape your heart.
He is alive and active, and He desires to be part of the everyday rhythms of your life. Get to know the God we sing to and about, so that your declaration becomes more than a lyric. Let it become the unshakable foundation of your life.
God, You are my everything🤍
We’ll see you Wednesday, students!
