One of the worst thunderstorms in years hit our area today, we responded to numerous trees and power lines down with many landing on homes and buildings, power will be out to part of our district for an extended time, below is just a few calls we responded to. Special thanks to Robbins Fire Dept for assisting us with some of our calls.

North Moore High School fun day. Our staff has enjoyed participating in all end of year school events this year.

Busy but fun day for our staff as our dept was involved in 2 events. We were able to be a part of a field trip for the North Moore ec class and show off our trucks and some equipment. We also were involved with spraying the kids for High Falls Elementary fun day. Our staff had just as much fun as the kids at both events!

Our department along with North Carolina Forestry was dispatched to a outside fire on South Carbonton Rd. Units arrived to find working fire. Carthage Fire was also requested to respond with a brush truck and tanker. This was the first fire we utilized our UTV with a skid unit on back. Fire was estimated to be 25 to 30 acres as is contained at this time.

A log truck driver and a firefighter from Montgomery County called 911 on Wednesday afternoon for a single-vehicle wreck on Glendon Carthage Road near Fair Promise Road in the Glendon community. Yesterday shortly after 5pm our department was dispatched to a outside fire due to a tree falling on power lines on Putnam-Glendon Rd between Glendon Church Rd and Glendon-Carthage Rd. When the first units arrived they found a fast moving fire that had also jumped the road and asked for more assistance. Special thanks to our mutual aid partners for there assistance. Carthage Fire & Rescue, Robbins Fire & Rescue, Bennett Fire Dept (Chatham), Pocket Fire Dept (Lee) and the NC Forestry Service. This shows just how dry our area remains and how quickly a small fire can become out of control.
