Winter Weather Advisory

Winter Weather Advisory until 10:00 am Thursday for Wayne County. Rain changes to snow through this early evening. Temperatures to plummet behind today's cold front. Single digit to sub-zero wind chills should persist over the next 7 days.

Travel could be difficult due to slippery road conditions and poor visibility once the snow starts to move through the area. Drive with extreme caution and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.

**SERVICE DISRUPTION**
Orange County Department of Emergency Services is monitoring a nationwide Verizon wireless service disruption that is impacting voice and data connectivity. Some devices may display “SOS” mode, indicating limited network access.

As of this time, Verizon has acknowledged the issue and is actively working to restore service. The outage is affecting multiple regions, including New York City, Chicago and Richmond, VA.

Residents are encouraged to check Verizon’s network status page for the most current updates and to use alternative communication methods if needed.

Orange County Department of Emergency Services has been in contact with our state and local partners regarding the situation.

At this time, there are no reports of 911 calls originating from Verizon being impacted. Residents are strongly discouraged from calling 911 unnecessarily to test whether calls go through.

Wayne County REACT members participate in (TIMS) Traffic Incident Management Training, a standardized, multi-disciplinary program for emergency responders (police, fire, EMS, public works, towing) focused on safely and quickly clearing roadway incidents to restore traffic flow. All Members attend ongoing training on a regular basis
