It is finished! The Legion Commander, William "Bill" Crawford finished the display, today, by flying the final flag! Let he who started a good thing finish what he started! The path to displaying, now over 250, American Flags started at the American Legion, Howard A. Bair, Post 423 a couple weeks ago with uncertainty on making the connection to the National Cemetery. With the help of our Mayor, volunteers, and team of sponsors, we were able to march on to Honor those who have gone before us on this 250th year of our great Nation.
The Flag,
More than just a cloth,
It is the quintessential representation of Honor,
The red, white, and blue,
The blood, sweat, and tears,
Uniting the past and present,
Lest no man forget who forged the path before us,
Each star held together by a thread of hope,
Each stripe stitched by lives lost,
Flying high in the sky,
Suspended between the heavens and the land left behind,
Let none fly higher,
Other than those who soar on the wings of eagles!
Let this display Honor those who have gone before us and give Hope to a brighter future. Be sure to follow the flags from Post 423 to the National Cemetery as well as to so many of our sponsors on Main Street who helped make this a reality! The big heart of Rittman is truly on display as well. From our heart to yours, we all work together we all win!
