Hello everyone,

Here is the information for this week's performance.

South Central Game (Home)
-Date: Friday September 4th
-Call Time to Room in North Street: 6:00pm
---This means be in the room ready to get dressed and warm up at 6, if you are not in the room at 6 you are late.
---If you have things to put in the stands (drum stands, bags, flip folders, etc.) this need done before 6pm, make sure you budget time for that.
-Everyone is expected to have their flip folder and lyre for stand tunes, you only need to bring it to North Street if you use it for pregame.
-Uniform: The R
-----The uniform is currently tentative. Depending on the temperature and/or the rain chances for Friday we may go with summer uniform. I will send out a Remind on Friday with any updates.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to clear this up since o have received a few questions about it. Uniforms should ALWAYS be living at the school. This was a rule started last year when students were leaving things at home. The uniforms only ever leave the school for two reasons: home events or to be dry cleaned. After home events the whole uniform is expected to be brought back and hung up on the cart. After away events we put the uniforms away immediately on the carts. If you take it to get cleaned it needs to be brought back to school on the carts once it it picked up from the cleaners.

We discussed this during band camp but it seems some students have forgotten. I will address this again Monday in class!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to send a reminder since the school year has started that we still need to wear appropriate shoes for band class. Tennis shoes only, no crocs, slides, sandals, flip flops etc. We have had quite a few this week have not appropriate shoes and had to march in socks or barefoot. This is not really a great solution either as it is not safe to march without proper footwear. Students are allowed to leave an extra pair of shoes in their school locker or band room locker.

Hello 6th and 7th Grade Band Families,

Today, all 6th and 7th grade students received a 5-12 band calendar for the year as well as their handbook. They also received their instrument loan forms if they use school instruments. These forms are due Monday, August 24th. 6th graders need to do the handbook contract page and instrument loan form (if applicable) and 7th graders need to turn in the handbook contract, medical form, and instrument loan form (if applicable).

We will also be having our supply check Monday, August 24th. This is when I will make sur students have their books, reeds, greases/oils, and cleaning supplies. If they do not have them they can buy them through the band supply store if needed.

Students also need to join the Google Classroom for band.

Here is the information for this week's football game:

Cleveland JFK Game (Home)
-Date: Friday August 21st
-Report Time: 6:00pm
-Report Place: Room in North Street Elementary
--Remember drop off is in the front of the building off of 1st street. Do NOT drop off in the back of the building as this is a high traffic area and not safe for students to be walking in.
-Uniform: British (white X)
-Percussion remember to put drum stands in the bleachers before the game (except bass drum, you will need it for pregame) Cymbals can also leave their snare drum in the stands during pregame.
-Any personal items need put in the band seats before call time.
