This year, we’re bringing back something special from the very first Christmas at the Hangar.
If you remember, or attended, our first-ever Christmas at the Hangar, you may remember that we held a community food drive. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our visitors, we collected enough donations to fill our director Bruce's entire truck bed with food!
Christmas at the Hangar has grown tremendously since then, welcoming thousands of families and visitors each year, and we felt it was time to bring this tradition back.
This year, we’re proud to partner with The Branches Outreach in Rio Grande. Our goal is to use the tremendous turnout at this free community event to help stock their shelves for the winter months ahead.
Last winter, some local shelters and food programs found themselves running low on supplies. We want to be proactive this year and do what we can as a community to help make sure our neighbors have access to the essentials they need during the colder months.
If you’re planning to attend Christmas at the Hangar on November 28, please consider bringing one or more of the requested items listed on the flyer. Their needs can change throughout the season, so you can also contact The Branches Outreach directly before the event to see what items are most needed at that time.
Whether it’s one can, one jar, or an entire bag of groceries, every donation adds up.
Christmas at the Hangar has always been about bringing our community together. This year, we hope we can use that same spirit to give back in an even bigger way.
We filled a truck bed the first time around — with the crowds this event now draws, imagine what we can accomplish together this year!
