Greetings,

Please spread the word. The Mississippi Art Colony would like an artist to attend our Fall Session 2025, Sept. 22 – Sept 27, who might otherwise be prohibited by his or her financial situation. Or, perhaps the artist wants to see, if the Mississippi Art Colony is a suitable fit for them before committing to other sessions. This could be your chance to try out a session.

I am happy to chair the MISSISSIPPI ART COLONY INVITATIONAL AWARD, which is open to
a practicing, dedicated, proficient artist – including a college student. The applicant must have a strong commitment to art as well as a solid work ethic and desire to grow.
This award covers all fees and room and board (Monday night through Saturday morning).
As a longstanding and highly recognized organization, The Mississippi Art Colony meets two weeks each year, the last week in April and the last week in September at Lake Tiak-OKhata Louisville, MS. Most of member artists live in Mississippi but a few come from other states.
During the Colony week, artists have uninterrupted time to create their own art and talk with other artists. A guest artist consults and offers his or her expertise regarding works being produced by each artist. Members consider their time together to be enriching and encouraging.

Our guest artist/instructor for our Spring session is INGRID ELLISON. She is a painter and arts educator working in oil, mixed media and visual journals. https://www.ingridellison.com

A panel of members selects and notifies the recipient. Please fill out the application and send before the closing date. The deadline for your application is August 28.
