Congratulations to our Sq**rt A coach, Michele Gintoli, for being named FCIAC Coach of the year!

Coach Michele also coaches the Wilton/Norwalk/Mcmahon Girls Hockey team, who had a historic season. Following a 3-11-1 record last year, the team earned a 12-4-2 record finishing 5th over all the state (out of 21). This is the most number of wins the team has ever had!

WNM had some huge games including tying New Canaan for the first non loss in history against this team. They also beat 3 higher ranked teams including Amity, Masuk and East Catholic. They ended the season on a high with an undefeated 9-game winning streak.

The team also won their first states game in program history in a Double OT 1-0 thriller against Greenwich, who they had just lost to in the FCIAC quarterfinal the week before. The goalie had an amazing 47 save shut out.

In addition to Coach Michele, 1 player was named named to All FCIAC First Team and All State First Team, while 4 additional players were named to All FCIAC Second Team. Congrats to all on an incredible season!

Meet the Coaches - Check out our incredible Sq**rt A team coaches!

Coach Michele has been coaching the Lions since 2016 and is known for her commitment to skill development, teamwork, and player confidence. In addition to RAHA, Michele is Head Coach of the Wilton/Norwalk/McMahon girls varsity hockey co-op. On the ice, Michele is co-captain of the Danbury Battle Axes women’s team and has been co-captain of the U.S. Women’s National Deaf Hockey Team since 2017, representing the United States while advocating for and empowering deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes.

Mike Schneider, affectionately known as “Coach Buzzy,” is thrilled to return to his roots, and come back to RAHA as the assistant coach for the Sq**rt A team. Coach Buzzy is passionate not just about teaching the game, but about shaping well-rounded individuals and fostering teamwork and character on and off the ice.

Meet the Coaches

Our Bantam Coaching crew is unreal!

First up, our Bantam AAs will be led by Coach Jackson. He was recruited to play U16 AAA for the Pikes Peak Miners in Colorado Springs, moving away from home during high school. After U16, Jackson returned to Idaho to play junior hockey with the Idaho Junior Steelheads (WSHL), helping lead the team to back-to-back league championships in 2015 and 2016 and was named All Thorne Cup Defenseman. His junior career also included stops in Fort McMurray, Alberta (AJHL) and Kemptville, Ontario (CCHL). He concluded his playing career at Arizona State ACHA Division I, serving as assistant captain as a freshman. We’re thrilled to welcome him to RAHA!

Coach Jackson will be assisted by Rob Miller and Colin Hulme - both veteran coaches over the years with Ridgefield Lions and rounding out an incredible AA squad.

Our Bantam A team will be lead by Coach Troy, who has been playing hockey his entire life from youth travel all the way through college club hockey at the University of Maryland. He now works for Stathletes, a hockey analytics company that statistically breaks down multiple facets of a player’s game, providing unique and accurate insights into their performance.

Finally, Coach Adam returns to lead our Bantam A1s. This will be his 3rd year as a head coach with the Lions, powered by a long career of competitive youth hockey from 7-17. He is excited to get back on the ice with the Bantams next year, as well as with his two daughters who also play for the Lions.

We love to see it!

Taylor Keating isn’t mad when her children miss the bus to school in Ridgefield.

In fact, all three of her children have missed the bus “many times” because they’re too busy skating on the ice rink in their backyard, their mother said.

Keating and her husband installed the ice rink in their backyard using a kit in the first week of December. It took a few weeks to set and was ready to be used around Christmas.

Her children didn't believe they were getting a backyard rink initially, but now they are having people over “all the time.”

Stop by Saturday at 3:30pm to cheer on the Little Tigers full ice mite team!

They are playing the Jersey Storm for a spot in the MAMA playoffs. The MAMA playoffs are Sunday, 2/22 at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn. These players have been on roll since the turn of the year!

Meet the Coaches!

Our 2026/2027 Peewee coaching lineup is stacked!

Coach Luke was captain of the varsity hockey team at The Harvey School before playing prep hockey at Millbrook School for one year, and college club hockey at Union College for four years. He’s been coaching as an assistant for our Peewees and is excited to head up the AA team next season!

Supporting Luke is Coach Billy. Billy grew up playing hockey in CT since he was 4 years old and has been coaching for 20 years. Billy has a masters degree in education and, combined with his extensive coaching experience, gives him a unique edge in creating fun and creative practice plans to best develop his players’ skills and confidence.

Our Peewee A team has Coach Cody at the helm next year. Cody grew up in Westchester County, where he began playing at five years old as a Mini Mite. He attended the University of Tampa where he proudly wore the Assistant Captain sweater and helped to develop their first ice hockey team which is now part of the SCHC. Great to have him back again next year to coach the PWA Team!

Meet the Coaches!

Next up is our dynamic duo for our Sq**rt AAs.

Coach Shayne brings years of experience from playing competitive hockey in college and juniors, and has coached our Mites for several years at all levels. In addition to his work with our Lions teams, he’s the head coach of the Ridgefield Tigers Junior Varsity team. Coach Shayne understands the importance of how practice translates to the game and wants to help young hockey players establish good habits at an early age and make sure they have fun every single time they step onto the ice.

Coach TJ joins Coach Shayne on the ice in addition to his role with our Mite A team. He’s coached many of our Sq**rt level players since their first years, and is excited to work together with Coach Shayne to help take this team to the next level!

Meet the Coaches!

Our amazing Girls Hockey program is led by Coach Ashley and Coach Melissa.

Ashley brings a wealth of experience as both a player and coach to the Ridgefield Lions. Her combination of leadership, athletic achievement, and coaching expertise makes her an invaluable asset to our program.

Melissa started her skating career as a competitive figure skater in singles and synchronized skating. After spending so much time on the ice, she decided to trade in her figure skates for hockey skates. For Melissa, the best part of being on the ice is watching children learn and develop their skills while building sportsmanship, making new friends and having fun!

TJ Cline TJ has over 25 years of coaching experience across all levels and ages. TJ is a premier skill development & shooting coach who focuses on mechanics and fundamentals. TJ is a staple at the rink and owner of the Pro Shop at the Winter Garden Ice Arena.

Kevin has been coaching with Ridgefield since 2021 and previously coached for the Westchester Vipers. Kevin loves the chance to develop young hockey players and teach them about the game he loves.

🏒 Please join us in welcoming Rob Miller as the new Hockey Director for the Ridgefield Amateur Hockey Association.

Rob has been a key part of the Lions coaching staff for four seasons and has led our Sq**rt AA teams to back-to-back Tier 2 CT State and New England Regional Titles, followed by a New England Regional Tier 2 Championship with our Peewee AA team. This season, the Peewee AAs captured Gold in the EJEPL Diamond Division and are headed to States soon!

In addition to his role with RAHA, Rob now serves as the Boys Varsity Head Coach for Ridgefield High School Hockey.

We are excited for the future of Ridgefield Lions hockey under his leadership.
