Join Environmental Commission Chair Steve Quinn for a guided Fall Nature Walk through the Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve on Saturday, October 24 at 9:00 AM!

Meet at the E. Grand Avenue entrance (near the high school) and explore the trails with us. Late October is a great time to see the Preserve change with the season. Watch for fall color along the trails, migrating songbirds passing through, hawks overhead, and white-tailed deer along the way. We've also been fortunate to spot bald eagles soaring above the Preserve, so keep looking up!

RSVP: [email protected]

A few reminders before you go:
🐾 No dogs, please. This helps protect the natural habitat for our wildlife.
👕 Dress in layers
👟 Wear appropriate footwear for uneven trails

📸 Tag and in your photos!

Sustainable Ridgefield Park's annual Swap & Shop is coming up soon!

Office clothes collecting dust since you went remote? Books you've already read? Finished puzzles taking up space? Now that the kids will be back in school, it's time to declutter! Bring all your gently used items, from winter coats to kids' outgrown favorites, household goods, books, accessories, and more. Turn your clutter into someone else's treasure!

LOCATION: RP Senior Center, 159 Park Street
DONATION DROP-OFF: Friday 9/18 from 4-8 pm and Saturday 9/19 from 8-10 am
SWAP TIME: Saturday 9/19 from 10 am until 2 pm

Please ensure that the items you bring are gently used and in good condition, ready to be repurposed by someone else. Remember, this isn't a place to drop off items that are damaged or unusable, we want to keep the spirit of the event positive and helpful for all! Please also ensure no used medical equipment, undergarments, mattresses, cribs or car seats, hazardous materials, or recalled items are brought.

You never know what you might find. Past years have turned up everything from shoes and Christmas decor to clothes for every season, an air hockey table, and even a wedding dress.

🌿 Join us for a Nature Preserve Clean Up Day!

We're hosting a mid-summer maintenance event with the Environmental Commission on:

📆 Saturday, July 25th
🕑 9-11 AM
📍 Meet at the E. Grand entrance to the Nature Preserve

We'll be tackling trail clearing, invasive reed removal from the boardwalks, litter collection, and more to keep the preserve looking great through the rest of Summer!

No special skills needed! Whether you're a longtime naturalist or just want some fresh air and a way to give back, there's a task for you. Even if you can only stay for a little while, any time you can give is a big help.

All ages welcome, but we ask that children be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Bags and gloves provided (bring your own gloves too, if you have them). Dress in layers, wear sunscreen, wear proper footwear, and bring water. A port-a-john is available at the entrance.

RSVP isn't required but helps us prepare for the day: [email protected]

Beautiful morning for a walk in the Ridgefield Park Nature Preserve! 🌿📸

This past Saturday, nature photography fans joined Joe Koscielny of the Bergen Audubon Society for a hands-on walk through the Preserve, picking up tips on equipment, camera settings, favorite spots, and how to see the Preserve through a new lens. No pro experience needed, just a phone or camera and some curiosity!

Joe's walks are always a treat, and folks were able to enjoy some time outdoors before the storms rolled in later that day.

Thank you to the Bergen Audubon Society and the Ridgefield Park Environmental Commission for partnering on this great program!
