Today, on Nelson Mandela Day, we reflect on a legacy defined by resilience in the face of absolute tyranny. Mandela spent 27 years unjustly incarcerated by an apartheid regime that the world was told would last forever.

He proved that it wouldn't.

At ICNA CSJ, Mandela’s legacy serves as a reminder of why we continue the fight for systemic justice today. The struggles he faced are not just history, they are reflected in the modern fight against racial inequality, the marginalization of vulnerable communities, and the ongoing global struggles against apartheid and occupation.

Most importantly, his story highlights the urgent, ongoing fight for political prisoners and those trapped in unjust legal systems. Today, we remember those who are still behind bars for daring to speak truth to power.

The work is far from over, but the blueprint for dismantling injustice has already been written.
