It never ceases to amaze me when people don’t understand what all goes into having a “rescue” or nonprofit of any kind. Especially the small ones. It’s typically 1 - a handful of people running the show, playing all the parts, sacrificing their lives for the cause. No pay, lucky if you get a day off, lose sleep and family time all for what you decided to try and make a difference in. But then again I can see why so many people don’t see it. We are typically empaths. We don’t want others to feel bad for us so we hide it, after all we chose this life. Our rewards are silent. A happy dog playing in the hose, a wore out toddler after running around with the crazies all day, a wagging tail after receiving a treat, the good nights rest after no one barking in the middle of the night and not having to go check on everyone at 3 am. 😅
Don’t forget your SMALL nonprofits, shelters, rescues and food banks ❤️
I appreciate every single one of you who have donated and supported my little non conventional rescue/sanctuary over the past years and check in on us ❤️
