Pack 638 is a Cub Scout Pack based in the Renton Highlands We are a member of the Alpine District of the Chief Seattle Council.

Our pack meets once a month, typically on Friday evenings. Change Picture
Pack 638 is a Cub Scout Pack in the Renton Highlands and is a member of the Chief Seattle Council. Most of our Cub Scouts attend Apollo Elementary, though our Pack is open to any scout in our area. Tonight, Cub Scout Pack 638 celebrated Liberty in Action, in honor of our nation's 250th anniversary! We learned about the Declaration of Independence, did a fun audience participation story about how Cub Scouts can help their communities, played a wooden hoop catch game from the 1700s, rolled beeswax candles, got a commemorative Enduring Liberty half dollar coin from one of our coin collecting parents, and capped the night off with a birthday party celebration for the country. What a fun way to learn more about citizenship and freedom!

At tonight's final den meeting of the school year, our scouts worked on trying foods from different food groups, stretching/warming up and playing games like frisbee. They had a ton of fun and were so supportive of each other! A Scout is Kind!

In preparation for summer camping season, our Cub Scouts learned all about campfire safety and first aid this month! They learned how to assess if someone needs first aid, practiced calling 911, put together personal first aid kits and put their campfire safety knowledge to use by building a candy campfire!

The annual Blue & Gold Banquet is a time-honored tradition in scouting to celebrate the "birthday" of the US scouting movement, and Pack 638 had a great time celebrating this year! Starting off with a Friends of Scouting presentation from a Chief Seattle Council, Scouting America representative, we then moved on to pizza, cake and games! Pin the neckerchief on the scout, limbo and a glow stick freeze dance party. This pack meeting was all about FUN!

Our 2026 Pinewood Derby is in the books! Scouts showed amazing creativity and great sportsmanship, and everyone had a fun time! Thanks to the fine folks at Krayola Express for running our race so well again this year!

Pack 638 dens learned all about healthy habits and jokes during our November den meeting. Lots of 67 jokes told by our 3rd graders, and the kindergartners loved singing the Happy Birthday song to time how long they should wash their hands. 😂

Pack 638 had a Build It Night for our November pack meeting, making periscope kits from the Scout Shop! Scouts had so much fun making and decorating their periscopes, and then the real fun started when they were ready to use!

The first adventure each year in Cub Scouts is the Bobcat adventure, and our scouts did that this week, but made it Mario-themed! We leveled up to Bobcat by getting to know each other, learning about the Scout Oath and Scout Law, playing games, and Doing Our Best.

Come check out our Mario-themed meeting this Friday, October 10, from 6:30-7:30pm at Apollo Elementary School to learn more! We'll be covering the Bobcat adventure, which is all about getting to know each other, getting to know a bit more about Cub Scouts, and having fun!

Cub Scout Pack 638 is in the East Renton Highlands and serves girls and boys from Apollo, Briarwood and more!
