*Sunday – September 20. 2026 – Pickleball Tournament – Shell Gym Facility-Rehoboth Beach (behind “Big Fish” restaurant). Coordinators – Brian Williams and Marina Hayden – (info to follow)-proceeds to benefit the Brian Piccolo Scholarship Fund.

*Thursday – Oct 8, 2026 – ITALIAN HERITAGE MONTH - “VINI & ANTIPASTI” no cost to members and guests. St. Edmond Parish Hall : 6:00-8:00 pm - Program: INDUCTION of NEW MEMBERS... and PRESENTATIONS: (Conferenzieri (Speakers)- Lorenzo Gregg ( recipient of the Italian Language Summer Camp Scholarship) and Parents – Tim and Immaculata ; also… “Italian Heritage and Citizenship”. Reservation but no payment required.

*Sunday November 8, 2026 – “FESTA d’AUTUNNO” – St. Edmond Parish Hall – 2:00-5:00 pm.
Co-sponsored with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society (proceed recipients) -
“Italian “Sunday Dinner;” beverages and snacks…Raffles and Silent Auction – Cost -TBD

*December 2026– Christmas Party – TBA

*January 17, 2027- ITALIAN MOVIE MATINEE – St. Edmond Parish Hall
2:00-5:00 pm. Pizza, Beverages, Popcorn and other snacks…Proposed film “Marriage Italian Style” in Italian with English subtitles….and NEW MEMBER INDUCTION. Proceeds to support Easter Baskets and Gifts for children in the Lighthouse for Broken Wings program.

*February 9, 2027 – “Carnevale” Abbott’s Grill, Milton, DE – 5:00-8:00 pm. Full meal menu – featuring music by “BACK AGAIN” (with Bob and Judy Bosch) – proceeds to benefit the Cape Henlopen Food Basket. Cost - TBD

*March 18, 2027 – Cooley’s Anemia Symposium (proceed recipients) and Brian Piccolo Scholarship Award. St. Edmond Parish Hall – 6:00-8:00 pm. Menu: Home-made soups, salad, rolls and home-made desserts. Speakers (TBA) and raffles. Cost - TBD

March 19, 2027 – St. Joseph’s Day Celebration- Mass 8:30- St. Edmond Church – followed by “Blessing and Distribution of Bread” to parishioners and food pantries.

*April 15, 2027 – “GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK” featuring “ Italian and Italian American singers, music and stories” by Vince Varrassi and Jeff Cooper. St. Edmond Parish Hall – 5:00-8:00 pm. – Menu – Italian Style Roasted Chicken and Potatoes, salad, rolls, and home-made desserts. Proceeds to benefit local charities. Cost - TBD

*May 1, 2027 – “KENTUCKY DERBY DINNER and GAMES”. Nicola Pizza – Lewes DE
4:00-8:00 pm. (private area) – Italian Menu and Large Screen Viewing.
50/50 and Raffle Baskets and Gifts. Proceeds to benefit Cancer Research and the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. Cost - TBD

UNICO DE: Kentucky Derby – Successo!

We Italians love to get together, and when the reason is “helping others” the event becomes more of a celebration. Good friends, good food but most of all a good cause whether it be a birthday, an anniversary, a baptism…or a sense of community, the emphasis is on “good and “unity”.
The Kentucky Derby, May 2nd, again provided the opportunity (after all the “U” in UNICO stands for “U”nity and the “O” for “O”pportunity), to extend our goal of charitable giving , with the proceeds donated to Cancer Research and the Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. Held at Nicola Pizza in Lewes DE, the Caggiano Family, as always, supported this event providing an excellent venue and service.

Children in the Rehoboth Area were not forgotten during the Easter Season. Joan Boraski, chairperson of the chapter “Outreach Committee”, assisted by Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Kondash and Mrs. Patty Derrick, provided baskets (40 in all) filled with toys and useful clothing items for those infant to 12 yrs, and gift cards and candy for 13 to 18 year olds.

Our final event for the 2025-2026 calendar year will be the annual BOCCE TOURNAMENT, to be held at Mulligan’s Point, Georgetown DE on June 6th (rain date June 7). Chairpersons Marina Hayden and Brian Williams are planning an exciting event for members and friends; all are welcome. Proceeds for this event will support the Brian Piccolo Scholarship 2027.

UNICO Rehoboth Area Supports "Lighthouse for Broken Wings"
Children in this area are always remembered by members of our local UNICO Chapter.
As is done every spring, Joan Boraski, chairperson of the UNICO Rehoboth Area Outreach Committee, aided by the generosity of chapter fundraisers, prepares Easter Baskets for children
aged infant to 12, filled with candy, toys and needed clothing items; bags filled with candy and gift cards are given to the teenagers.
In addition to chapter donations, local businesswoman Patty Derrick and Dr. and Mrs. Dennis Kondash contributed toys and clothing items to delight and fulfill the children's dreams for a Happy Easter Holiday season.
